So you cannot trade the item but will put it on the ASAH to trade it for the one you want?

You cannot trade bound items, but you CAN sell bound items that are BtCoE on the Astral Shard AH. However it is a 40% cut + 5 shards to post, so it would be required by the system to post for at least 10 shards to cover fees, with 15 being the default. I'm assuming that he would be posting it at minimum cost with you there to buy it (hoping it's not bought out from under you). This exchange cost would need to be factored into the trade deal, though the attached augments or the fact he may be willing to trade both helms would do that.
