How do I optimize the DDO client startup?

Specifically, how do I tell it two things:
1) i already have the C++ 2005 Redistributable stuff installed, so it doesn't need to re-download and install it every time.
2) how do I tell it I don't need the non-english stuff loaded/updated (I always see a stream of non-english language packages being loaded).

It might not speed the startup much, but it would cut down on my being annoyed at watching it.

Maybe you can solve your no.1 issue this way, too, i'm not sure

Search* the forums for the DDO-preloader and you'll see a great improvement if you install and use it to launch the game ;-)

The VC++ 2K5 SP1 message can be eliminated by installing the package from this link. Don't worry, it's direct from Microsoft (OK, that can cause a little worry ).

The constant downloading of language specific splash screens can be overcome by following the directions in this thread.

And as Grecan suggested - Wanesa's DDO Preloader works wonders. Use it to launch DDO and you'll have almost instant character swaps and zone changes.
