Default LF some advice for my Eldritch Knight Bladeforged

Hello again DDO community! After 2 years of hiatus I had a sudden nostalgia urge, so i decided to come back to check out what was new in the game, and i was honestly quite stunned.

So, i decided to TR my Drow Sorcerer, in order to try out the Eldritch Knight prestige tree. I was always a fan of gishes in pnp, and finally I have a way to seriously try them here too! Yay!

I was thinking about something like 14 sorc/4 pally/2 monk, Bladeforged

I'm hesitant to stop at 12 sorc because just one lvl 6 spell seems not really fun to me (I like to have more toys to play with)

Paladin is obviously for the Cha bonus to saves, and Divine Might, hence the 4 levels (I don't have eDestinies unlocked to add Turn Undead)

Monk gives me 2 bonus feats, evasion, nice saves and stances (i was thinking about using staves, namely Sireth, so I can stay centered)

    Stats are
    16 STR
    8 DEX
    20 CON
    10 INT
    6 WIS
    14 CHA

As for feats, my choice would be:

    Extend
    Power Attack
    Cleave
    Great Cleave
    THF
    Quicken
    Improved Critical
    Empower
    Maximize

I'm completely ignorant about epic levels so I don't even know what options I have,
though i read about Overhelming Criticals being almost a given.

So, my question is: am i doing it wrong? Stats, feats, etc?
And, can anyone give me some advice about some items i should try to acquire?

    Thanks in advance!

Lol coincidence? I was thinking of TR'ing into something very similar.

As for classes, I am torn between 2/2/16 or 4/2/14 like you. I know I will want both GH and Reconstruct as level 6 spells, so 13 sorc levels is minimum. To me the attraction of 16 sorc levels is Otto's Irresistable Dance which i think can be quite handy. The downside to 16 sorc levels is that you can only get 2 paladin levels and will have to twist in Bane of Undeath. So: Is Otto's worth a twist?

I am planning to use Energy Burst a lot, that leaves only one open level 1-2 twist

As for stats, I am planning to put everything into charisma and rely on Divine Might to boost strength:
13 str (+4 tome -> qualify for ITHF)
    6
    18 (+4 tome -> EpicToughness)
13 (+3 tome -> max Balance, Concentration, Spellcraft and 11 umd)
    6
    18 level-ups here

    Planned feats are quite similar:
    1 PA
    3 Quicken
    6 Maximize
    9 Cleave
    M1 Toughness
    M2 THF
    12 Great Cleave
    15 IC: Slash
    18 Force of Personality
    21 Epic Tough (con21)
    24 ITHF (str17)
    27 GTHF (str17)
    D26 Perfect THF
    D28 Hellball

    Any comments? Especially regarding Otto's...

I have something totally different, but nonetheless a bladeforged knight. See:

    https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...03-Wonk-option

It works pretty **** good, but I am totally ungeared properly at this time. Fighter/wiz/monk let me get all of the thf feats, dodge, mobility, spring attack, extend (ultra important for a low level wiz), power attack, cleave, great cleave, and I think one or two other things. With a force spellpower of 150, in this setup, I do cleaves for 50 (x2??) with eldritch strike.

Either there is a bug, or there is something unusual, as when I do a strike, frequently (always?) I get 2 damage attacks. Either that, or I am seeing a physical cleave for 50 damage and a force cleave for 50 damage; In any case, it seems to be 100+ damage for every 10 spellpower used. For every 30 spellpower used I get about 250 damage with the same spellpower for a tempest strike.

With all of the dodge bonuses, plus deflect arrows, evasion, and improved evasion, I am surprisingly durable in at-level elite content running solo. I have tier 3 reconstruct and most everything I want for enhancements at 16; from here it is gravy and extra damage. I am unsure if I should take the bladeforged power attack, or construct hps, or what, but so far it has been a nice play. My wis sucks however, due to the -2 penalty, so landing successful undodged kibolts at this time is just a waste of ki for an average of 20 damage. I have 2 more levels to go till I can get incinerating wave, but I am hoping by then to have more wisdom. I might just buy an expensive tome and boost it that way....

@Bart_D : Well, since you relt so much on Charisma you should think about how will you level from 15 to your epic twist. Party? Solo? Do you think you will have troubles without DM supporting your Strenght?

My toon being STR based does not have this problem, but i want to use it asap because +5 to damage (i assume that on my pretty much ungeared toon) is nice, and for flavor reasons. Also i don't really think i'll be unlocking eDestinies any time soon (maybe once i have farmed enough TP.. yeah good luck with that), so pally 4 is my only reasonable option, and i'm pretty much set on that.

As for you, Otto's is really good, or at least i remember it being so. I don't think you'll really need in heroic, but i remember it was a really popular spell to use in epic content when i was still playing, can't really say about today's game. But, just a thought.. assuming you will be doing epics in a party, chances are that someone else will bring that spell too

But aye, it's surely a nice spell to have.

@Scrag : that seems like a very fun build to play. Too few caster levels for my personal taste (i'm a follower of the sacred dogma of gishes "Thou shall not lose caster levels!"), but i know in the future i'll try out a Wiz EK build, most likely a Wiz/Fgtr/Rog, and probably human for flavor reasons.
