Question Question about Completionist and Iconic TR

The DDOwiki tells me that an Iconic Race cannot True Reincarnate, only Iconic Reincarnate. However, a non-iconic character may TR into an Iconic character.

When you TR from a Non-Iconic race to an Iconic Race, do you keep your past life feats?

Assuming yes, could you (if you were insane) earn three of each past life, completionist then TR into an Iconic race and keep the bonuses.

Then of course, you'll already insane might as well go the extra mile. Iconic TR three times on each race to earn the best iconic past life bonuses.

Giving your character the maximum amount of bonuses that TRing has to offer.

Just curious if it was possible

you can do this and can also add on of course epic reincarnation also, 3 times each of 3 past epic life feats from 4 types of aspect (natural, martial, divine and of course arcane) for a further 36 epic life feats to make a completely manic killing machine, but of course this will take a bit of extra time :-)

When you iconic reincarnate you get both an iconic and a class past life,
so doing all your class past lives first then doing all your iconic past lives is not the best way.

Insane.... dude, so you know, 3x Completionist, has been done by quite a few people now. 3x all iconics TRs, I have that done as well. Almost done with all Epic TRs as well.

So it is doable nowaday, with all the changes to xp, and the store items as well.

Iconics gain +1 Iconic PL feat & +1 Herioc PL feat when they ITR.
you could skip gaining 3x each heroic PL and go straight to ITR to get some of those Heroic PL at the same time.

otherwise your going to be doing extra work which would be the insane part.

It's much more work to get from 15-28 (and soon to be 30) than from 1-20. I'd only do iconic reincarnations if you REALLY want Iconic past lives (which aren't all that spectacular, really) or if you're working on leveling epic destinies. If you want heroic past lives efficiently, it's probably best to do 1-20 on a non-iconic character, still.

while you both have a semi valid point the reply was to the OP.

OP was suggesting it be insane to farm 3x all heroic PL then at that point might as well farm 3x each Iconic.

I was suggesting that is the hard way to go about it if you do not already have 3x heroic PL you might as well do Iconic TR and gain both past lives at once.

lets look at it this way

    3x 13 classes lvl 1-20 triple completionst + 3x 4 Iconics 15-28= 36 Heroic lives 12 Iconic lives(12 heroic PL not stacking)
    or
    3x 4 Iconics (12 heroic included) remaining Heroic lives to 3x completionist= 24 Heroic lives 12 Iconic

either way your going to need CoV to get the Iconic lives so that is a non issue.

The issue is that it is a waste to NOT gain both a Heroic + Iconic PL at once IF you plan on gaining them all anyways.
