1.) Okay, so I have to say it... DDO headwear/helmets need a little overhaul in my opinion. The coolest looking helmet (in my opinion), is Minos Legens. This helmet is visually appealing to most everyone that I know. That said... it is a medium level range helmet with few uses for higher level characters, especially epic level toons. Epic Dragon helms are okay, if you can latch on to one. I know that DDO has begun to offer headwear appearance kits... Please make more!!! As for other items of headwear... I have noticed that nearly every cool looking spiked or horned helmet is imbued with enhancements and abilities geared towards spell slingers, while the more mundane and even ridiculous are geared towards melee characters. Please sort this out! We need a little something cool, tough looking, and even a tad sinister looking for us to wear. That said... the cursed helmets look pretty cool, but I don't see anyone wearing them at all... because THEY ARE CURSED! Please whip us up something totally wild!
2.) We need a little background music to game by. I know that some people turn in game music off entirely, and others play music from other audio devices in the background while they play. DDO has put great effort into the visual portion of the game. Soundtracks such as those found in the Stormhorns end adventure are epic sounding and even empowering. A little Jeremy Soule would go a long way for game enhancement. Just saying!
3.) Ever since the Skills upgrade(?), my Ranger is gimped. Selecting those abilities that I once had and still have access to, I find my 600+ - 900+ multishot damage now nerfed to about 200+ - 300+. What gives? Please take a look at the ranger class and un-gimp them!
4.) Crafting... I have never been one to spend my time destroying items to get their core materials, just to construct something else that I can't use because my level was too high. I like to adventure... not spend all my time in the crafting hall. So I have a suggestion... Let characters select items that they wish to craft when they are still at low levels, and allow them to build these items as they gain in levels. Here's an example.
Example: Level 1 Fighter - Selects a Greatsword from a inventory of enhanced designs available to him/her. Say... 20 different weapon design blanks. At each level he/she is allowed to add/imbue something on that weapon. Whether it is a simple +1 bonus each level (with a cap), a prefix enhancement, suffix enhancement, or a core ability, the Fighter would be able to build his weapon over time as he/she gains in levels. To do this, he could...
A.) Craft it himself/herself in the Crafting Hall in the existing manner...
B.) Bring said Greatsword to a holy Temple and offer a donation to the Temple in exchange for an imbue...
C.) Bring said Greatsword to a Arcane shop and have a Sorcerer/Wizard and pay for an imbue...
D.) Bring said Greatsword to a Druid's Glade and work to clear the surrounding forest of evil creatures in exchange for an imbue...
E.) Place the Greatsword on an Eldritch Altar and use imbues that are received in quests as rewards, traded, or bought on the AH...
Of course, each imbue that the Fighter wishes to place upon the weapon would likely be specific to a particular type of magic, and imbues could be applied only by those who can cast that school of magic and at a proper level. So, Divine Spells would not likely be cast by Arcane casters and vice versa.
Anyway... by the time this Fighter reaches Level 20, he/she could have quite the weapon on his/her hands. Each weapon would be unique in many ways, as it may look different from others of the same build. It could have variations throughout its build as well. Ultimately, it could become a prized possession and primed for EPIC CRAFTING, which will commence at Level 21.Its just a thought, but I see too many people not using their Greensteel items any longer, nor are they using their alchemical items.
Thanks for your time if you read this.
Stay Safe!!!
May thine blade be forever sharp...
