Angry Game running slow/not responding.. Does it on very low detail..

I have a Windows Vista Inspiron 530S. When I play the game, it laggs alot and runs very slow when loading.. It gives the "not responding" feature sometimes.. Running around in the Harbor/Marketplace or anywhere it runs slow and is laggy. That's on very low detail.. I've got a good pc and I doubt there's anything wrong with it.. But it's very aggrivating trying to play on the lowest detail possible and it still does it.. HELP? This is what I have if it helps..

    Default Not uncommon...

A lot of people struggle loading and running DDO, often caused by the over-inflated DAT files the games has to load.

Assuming you don't have any other problems, it can often be fixed with the DDO Preloader, which works by first loading the DDO files into memory, so they don't have to be read from the hard drive when the game loads.

This does seem to fix a lot of people's problems, especially the 'not responding' thing.

But will this fix the problem in the in-game when i'm playing? It runs rough when i'm playing it also.

Presuming that you dont have an issue with your connection, it may well be that your machine is not able to run the game very well. It is a little bit light on its resources with only 2 GB of RAM. Most games these days want 4-8 GB, and the current "standard" is 8. You also have an older chip, with the Core 2 Duo.

I would do your best to cut all system resource usage before you boot up DDO and see if that helps.
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

Yeah, I was going to say.

The ram is your choke point. Get 4-8 gigs stat!

Also, (can't edit my own posts).

Your cpu is a single core x86 chip. And you are running an integrated GPU (the intel chip).

You need 8 gigs of ram minimum I would wager, to run ddo at a halfway decent frame rate on medium or better settings.

That slimline is not designed for gaming.

I have found DirectX 10 to be a primary culprit; I have DDO installed on multiple computers and my first "fix" is to switch to DirectX 9 and that does the trick, for me.

DX9 Is much more stable. I wouldn't attempt higher with your setup.
