doublestrike bonus looks interesting. it has mainly 4 possible sources: morale bonus / enhancement bonus / various bonus / untyped bonus.
while for the first 3 only the highest applies (although they stack with each other as long as they come from digfferent sources), the untyped bonus stacks anyway.
my question is about how worthy would it be to build something based on doublestrike and, in case, how.
assuming it is, i see different paths:
- 2wf with some wide crit range weapons (scimitars/rapiers)
- 2wf with wraps
- 2hf with quarterstaff
in the first case, fighter and ranger builds have the edge, both due to their capstones.
in the second case, you will surely take at least a couple of levels in monk
in the third case, you will need at least 2 levels into rogue for qstaff enhancmenent speed from TA tree
while the first case has to rely on gear only, the second and third, due to monk levels, can use wind stance for up to +10% bonus
there is some interesting thing for the purpose (just to name few: antipode, skirmisher bracers, shadowdancer core, grandmaster of flowers twists, enhancements...) so i suppose an high value of doublestrike is actually reachable (lez say around 30/40% maybe?)
once reached, best thing to do is boosting attack speed in order to maximise the chances of getting the additional free hits.
so, how would you build something focused on doublestrike?
what's the max substainable doublestrike value reachable? (druid can get a +90% for a bunch of seconds, im speaking about permanent values)
which of the 3 paths is the best?
