    Default Henshin mystic and sorcerer

So I have this crazy idea of combining monk henshin mystic and sorcerer..

    reasons:

    1) henshin mystic core powers are affected by fire and force spell power so there seems to be a synergy with arcane class

    2) going sorcerer allows access to elderich knight and fire savant to further boost monk cores

    3) monk cores boost fire and force spell power as well

    4) it would seem 12/8 monk/sorcerer allows the best split but I could be wrong

my question: is this insane? If not any suggestions race, stat breakdowns etc

Not insane, but it's not quite there. I personally don't really see the fire/force being significant compared to just physical dps, but here are my comments nonetheless.

Race, bladeforged. The SLA reconstruct is awesome. That means at least 1 paladin though, unless you LR out of the paladin level.

My split was 10sorc 6monk 4paladin (https://www.ddo.com/.../430545-Displaced-Henshin-The-Bladeforged-Melee-Sorcerer). But, 12/8 would work too, improved evasion, leap, lower saves, different past life, LR-heart.

Main problem with type damage are the action points. For melee build, better to focus on stuff improving melee. Same AP-split as my staff-user, means 32-36 henshin (for the q-staff crits), 11 ninja-spy, 11 bladeforged, that leaves just 20-25 AP to spare, I'd probably just put more to monk/bladeforged, keep sorcerer there for the extended displacement/haste (and other buffs) and only grab the early goodies you deem worth it.

Not the top DPS, but displacement, shadow fade and reconstruct make it highly durable in-your-face melee type. Super-fun to play, at least in heroics and the easier EE:s/EH:s. Feat/AP starved, short displacement due to low level sorc, so if you want to use Eldritch Strike, you'll end up using shrines as much as high-drain casters. Without the EK-strike this build can just spew through the quests without shrining at all.

About feats, normal melee feats, Quicken is not needed as SLA can't be interrupted, Extend is pretty much mandatory, 30-second displacement will drive you mad.

Thanks I hadn't thought about blade forged. The sorcerer is there really for buffs, and the increase in force and fire spell power to make the 2 core henshin attacks ever so much better. 8 sorcerer gets me firewall and stone skin. 12 monk to get tier 4 core henshin attack. The AP could be an issue I agree.

I have a 15 sorc/3 monk/2 fvs shiradi caster. I gave up spell DCs entirely for evasion and monk benefits. It works out pretty decently, but enhancements are extremely tight. I'll still trying to optimize when I have more time.

I will be going rogue 1 / monk 6 / caster rest-ish on one of my lives coming up, cleaving w/ staves, etc. I like to get traps, and the swing speed will be nice. I may go rogue 2, undecided yet.
Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane
