Default Raid bosses can use nerve venom when targeted with it

I've run many raids since last update and me and my guildies have experienced this issue many times.
Raid Bosses can acquire nerve venom ability (7% chance to proc when you cast a spell) if a shiradi caster spams to him for some time.
This is not friendly fire. Nerve venom does proc even if the shiradi caster that was casting to the boss stops attacking at all.
If at some point the boss acquires that ability he will keep it and will apply it to player characters even if the shiradi caster that "gave" the ability to him" dies.

This can be particularly annoying in Fall of truth (the dracolich spams fireballs very fast) or in Tower of despair where General Horoth casts metor swarm (guaranteed proc basically)

An easy fix would be nerve venom proc only on arrows and not on spells so that the bosses will not have the chance to make it proc on players when using spells

    Hi,

I wrote a thread about this a little while ago. At first I thought it was a bugged shiradi proc affecting players, but that doesn't seem to be right. The reason I suspected that was because of the rise of double rainbow effects which harm players.

The Dev reply seemed to indicate that some boss monsters have recently gained the nerve venom ability. Although I agree with you that it is occurring, it's not restricted just to raid bosses; the Portal Keeper in EE Tor has it, as does Kishnaurac in EE Deal with the Demon. I've experienced the nerve venom effect from both of those myself.

I don't think the monsters are acquiring the ability because casters are using it on them. I think they've just had it added to their repertoire to make higher difficulty content more challenging. But despite the lack of proof about what the exact mechanism is, it's definitely in the game now. And what little explanation we have from the Devs seems to imply that it is intentional, not accidental.

Removing the chance for nerve venom to proc on spells would be very harmful to shiradi casters, who rely on it as a form of CC and to increase damage output because mobs made helpless by the effect take more damage. I think the people who play shiradi casters might find your solution to the problem a little too extreme.

    Thanks.

Aside from this being related to a bug or not this would be good for the game regardless.

    I agree.

Actually makes me want to raid and see it in action. At least gives the bosses a fighting chance.

    What an awful fix suggestion.

How about fix it so that the raid bosses don't "acquire" the ability. Ie, fix the actual problem.

Or, if they're supposed to be able to acquire shiradi stuffs, then let them have the whole gamut. (and make FoM the solution?).

I see it as a challenge, just my opinion.
