    Default Paladin mutt for past life and fun?

    Not sure what to call her, since I don't know if I'll do this build or not..I'm curious to hear if people think it'll be playable

    Character will have 1 bard past life - have most everything available outside of the half breed races if you want me to make tweaks. I chose drow, but that can be altered I suppose.

    My definition of "playable" for this build: This will be a second life character - I want to be able to solo pretty much everything up to 20 on hard and provide good dps and support (through cleric burst) when running with people on elite. I don't expect this build to really "shine" on EE content, but it'd be nice if I could at least contribute. I have heard a good paladin is very "clicky dependent" - I am trying to minimize that with this build, because that just simply isn't my play-style.

    I have 3 simple questions about the build:
    1) are paladin and cleric "turns" on different timers? [I would assume so, but I don't know ]
    2) are there any "must have" enhancements I overlooked?
    3) is the force of personality feat worth taking? [it gave me ~5 better save..not sure if that's worth a feat or not].

    I am going to bump this thread, because so far this build has been super fun. I am at level 15 and feel basically un-killable with pretty good dps. I played delirium on elite yesterday in a group and easily held my own. The only change I have made is I put more points into warpriest and much less into radiant servant, to get ameliorating strike - I like the free heals that can be "cast" even when in the presence of a beholder. With the proposed changes to paladin, I believe this build will get even better.

    To answer my own questions:
    1) paladin and cleric turns seem to be on the same timer -- I have about 18 turns
    2) I don't know if it is must have, but ameliorating strike is nice
    3) I have had no need for a higher will save, yet.

    A few more comments: I ended up going human because 34 pt>30 pt drow (con is important on this character), I have a greensteel concopp item, because of how I play this character (front and center), I basically have unlimited sp since I pretty much only cast cure spells. I front-loaded the cleric levels and now at level 15, I am still pretty competent to sit back and play a healer if the group I am in seems to need some help (I am not above helping newer players)...and by "sit back" i mean do ameliorating strike, cleric burst, and then cast cure spells if anyone is hurting in between my "free" healing (plus I have 2 of the spell thingies that heal for 10,000, remove neg levels, and death effects as well as 4 lay on hands). I think if I wanted, I could put on a tower shield and be a pretty fearsome tank, but I haven't really tested it out and I would probably need to alter my feats. I didn't put points into intimidate and I kind of regret it, because I could easily handle all the hate on this character.

    I believe this build would also be awesome at 12 pally/6 cleric/2 monk as that would net evasion. I play almost all my characters with evasion, and I wanted to try a heavy duty melee for a change.

    The next update will overhaul Pallies so people, I suspect, are holding off on builds. The cutoff min level for splashes is 14 Pally for the buffed Holy Sword spell

    Yeah, deep pally splashes won't want to miss on level 14 for the improvements made to Holy Sword...it's the most improved aspect of the entire overhaul. I should think, if you really wanted an evasion version, a 14 Pally/4 Cleric/2 Monk would work just fine. You'd net Holy Sword, Ameliorating Strike, and evasion. No tier 5s in cleric, but such is life. With your healing amp, cure spells, LoH, 10k Heals, and Ameliorating Strike, you'd be pretty effective if built right. Dps, evasion, saves, and self healing (with party helping heals on deck) in a single package.

    14 pally/6 cleric is probably what I will switch to, if I haven't TR'd. 2 Fighter is mostly for feats, which actually I think I could manage without..maybe

    just stay with your build as is; TR and try a new one! Past Life pally is a great boost; having more than one is sweet.

    This was my intent..lol I am way too cheap to get a heart for a preemptive change like that
