I've seen the Nerve Venom proc on my non-caster, non-shiradi character in Epic Elites. I have seen all sorts of "interesting" procs (including two pork barrels covering us with Tasty Ham in eE Prison of the Planes), but I think they mostly require the Tea with the Queen super-buff to be active.

    Hi,

I ran Deal and the Demon by myself with a hireling on EE just a few minutes ago.

In the final fight, the demon Kishnaurac hit me with nerve venom, paralysing me for 5 or so seconds. I checked the combat log and it was definitely his, not mine. It happened when he hit me with a meteor swarm.

I've run this quest many times now on EE but I've never been hit with nerve venom in that fight before, nor have I seen it happen to anyone else. I suspect that this is new in u20. I'd be grateful for Dev confirmation that nerve venom has been added to some boss attacks (EE Kishnaurac and elite Suulomades and Horoth).

If anyone else has noticed the nerve venom effect with other bosses please post it here in this thread.

    Thanks.

(Edit: I'm still a little puzzled about why I was being hit with nerve venom in ToD, because in the end fight I was behind both bosses and not taking any melee damage. Perhaps it was the bosses' spell attacks?)

Easier solution: Go on Twitch and use OBS. It records it for you and you can just link the stream for the devs. No real work on your end besides the initial setup and pushing start.

I've noticed a lot of critters following me around lately. Bats, birds and frogs.

    Hi,

Ran another elite TOD just then. It took a long time, due to a couple of unnecessary deaths and some alarmingly bad lagspikes for the whole party.

Interesting thing was, there were no cases of people being frozen by nerve venom. Nor were there any shiradi casters in the group. Not sure what to think about this now.

    Thanks.

Yea, 'son' here to clarify...it was the Lyrandar Dragonmark, Call Lightning Storm. Pre-U20, it could drop tons of stuff on you if you activated it. Thankfully, turbine fixed many of these problems when I reported them, but I found more problems later on.

    Currently, CLS procs:

    -Nerve Venom
-Elemental Damage from Rainbow (can be quite painful, as it deals in the 100's of damage)
-Force/Sonic Damage from Shiradi itself. (I tried to avoid the above issues by turning rainbow stance off before using CLS...but took heavy force/sonic damage on multiple occasions)

The poison traps can indeed activate on party members, potentially leading to Rainbow/Shiradi Proc. Also as a side note...these poison traps, if caught before activation, can be disabled by a skilled rogue, and it does count towards your trap bonus (even in quests without traps)

Yes, I've seen almost every debuff or weird effect under the sun from shiradi. Pork barrel did blow on me during a solo End of the Road EH, and the 'super buff' was indeed active. Other buffs that have shown up include Xorian Heartburn (from Delirium), what appeared to be drow weapon poison (or yuan-ti, not sure which), and what seemed almost like a mini-mass frog buff...one minute an enemy was there, the next minute, a frog.

And then there's the super-rare 'Ravings of a Mad Queen' buff...or whatever the name was. With that active, I've dropped a green dragon extremely fast. Iirc, the buff guarantees spell procs on every cast for the next 30 sec or so after tea activation. I've only seen it about 3 times though...and I use tea a lot. It always proc's with the super-buff though, making it even more deadly.

Edit- almost forgot...I've also tripped the Silence Giant on EH FoT using Double Rainbow stance. Still not sure how, though.

Negative level aoe procs rather frequently. It happens when using Shiradi Champion after a kill. So, if you are next to a mob that dies from a player using Shiradi Champion, you often het hit with a negative level aoe.

    Hi,

This seemed to happen a lot before u20, but I haven't seen it once since then.

I got another does of nerve venom in EE Tor fighting the portal keeper. Being immobile for seven seconds with all of those giant skeletons nearby was a little nerve-wracking, but fortunately I didn't have the aggro of any meleeing monsters.

On the issue of double rainbow, I was in a group where someone playing a squishy melee claimed to have been killed by damage from a poision trap that had appeared from a double rainbow proc.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Still hoping for some more dev attention to this issue, or at least another response.

I'm mostly convinced that the nerve venom effect is a fun new addition to certain bosses' powers in higher difficulty content, but there are still some other issues not covered by Varg's response.

Despite the statement above, double rainbow procs can neg level party members, cast grease, and spawn poison traps. The harmful effects also seem to change from update to update, with old effects disappearing and new effects appearing.

Could we please get a more complete response which addresses why in fact there are harmful effects, and either confirms that they are intentional or says something about when this will be fixed.

Thanks to the people who contributed to this thread.

I've hit random mobs with some sort of polymorph, that gives the finger of death visual effect, skulls by the damage numbers, and spawns a frog where the unfortunate target was.
Looking back through the combat log I'd find the message [you hit mobname with Mass Frog]. Not sure if there's a comparable effect for birds and bats though.

And those poison traps bloody hurt, as well.

From what I can tell, a shiradi debuff/dot (a certain one or all of them, I don't know) on mobs will make the attacks of that mob proc Nerve Venom. I've been in several raids now where there's a shiradi caster and as soon as I get boss aggro, bam, constant Nerve Venom. Doesn't happen if there's not a shiradi spamming the boss.

    Hi,

There's another thread about this at the moment with someone else claiming the same thing. It would be good if we could see an icon on the target which stated that it had gained this power. If you see it please post about it.

That theory would explain why in my two recently elite ToD runs I was hit several times by nerve venom in one run and not at all in the other. The party composition was different, and both times the fights were quite long, so it's unlikely that it was just down to chance.

    Thanks.

We'll look into possible issues with Nerve Venom.

They are intended to work together without interfering with each other.

We're looking into this. In this case (and possibly others) the important part of the bug report is the ability itself (Grasp of the Earth Dragon), not double rainbow, so if there's other stuff like this bug reports are appreciated.

Energy fart from draconic incarnation will proc stay frosty (which i've twisted in) on my sorc. Being hamstrung and cold damaged by your own twists sucks.

Oh and implosion procs shiradi effects on my FvS too. That one's been around so long, I don't even believe it to be a bug anymore. I just don't play my FvS.

Hi I just wanted to add that my sorc gets rainbow or nerv venom proc on himself when He casts the helf dragonmark SLA Call Lightning Storm.

I think it because the storm is centered on the caster.

And yes I have bug reported it.

Since poison immunity was nerfed back with MOTU we have no such protection against nerve venom.

In a raid setting, when you have a number of casters and/or artificers with high attack rates striking a single target where melees are clustered, this is very dangerous both because it can make you helpless and it occurs quite frequently. In the elite ToD my group completed, I was frozen around half a dozen times during the final battle, and I could see it affecting other people too.

As far as I can tell, each time there is an update, someone is fiddling around with the proc effects table for double rainbow. If that seems like a good use of someone's time, that's great, although there are other things I would argue need more attention. But the end result seems to be that either someone is deliberately introducing fun and random effects which harm players, or the flags which determine whether or not players are affected by those effects are being inadvertently messed up.

Please stop making double rainbow effects harm players. It's just a pain in the backside, and is taking the whole 'random is cool' design principle way too far.

    Thanks.
    Agreed.

I'm tired with all the tinkering being done every update with Double Rainbow, the end result of which is to make Shiradi hated by others in the group. If the attempt is to make Shiradi less desirable to use there are easier ways to go about that.

(Some players get downright emotional about grease and in some cases even threaten to leave the party...)

    Hi,

    Thanks for this.

Just got hit with nerve venom in a Hard Shroud. There was a shiradi caster in the party, judging by the amount of 'non-harmful' grease spread all over the floor.

When I checked my combat log I noticed that Arraetrikos' name was not capitalised in the nerve venom note, unlike the other entries for him there. Not sure if this means the nerve venom is from another source and being misattributed to him.

    Thanks.

I mostly solo, so while I haven't been hit with a nerve venom yet, I find the spawning traps to be extremely annoying. They completely destroy my trap bonuses. The last 3-4 of my daily eh runs of von3 I had 0% trap bonus at the end even after disabling all the "normal" traps. This is very frustrating. You can avoid it by disabling extra traps but they usually spawn in the middle of the battle and trigger before you have any chance of disarming it. Please, either remove the traps completely from the possible procs or fix them so they don't count for the bonuses!
