Default New Quest Suggestion: The Drow Wars

So, we have the Drow of Eberron. Many of them throw their alliances here and there. Most of them align around Vulkoor, the scorpion god.

And then Lolth the spider-goddess shows up, literally rips a new one between the space-time fabric of Eberron and the Forgotten Realms, and then declares war on a village, using her legions of the Underdark--who seem to make the Drow of Eberron seem like a bunch of farm kids from Korthos wielding masterwork weapons and Clubs of the Holy Flame.

I don't know if Vulkoor is up to planet-killing savvy as Lolth is, but wouldn't it be great to have a quest series and raid that pits the Drow of the Underdark against the Drow of Eberron? Imagine an imminent invasion by Faerun Drow into Stormreach. One NPC Drow (Drizzt Do'Urden? ) is not pleased by the idea and works with adventures from Xen'drik to find out more and stop the Drow incursion.

"Our" Vulkoor Drow wouldn't fight for Eberron as much as to save face to show that they are Drow, too. Drider versus Scarrow fights would be naturally awesome.

The idea's based on too many "Star Trek" episodes with Klingons and the resulting post in my DDO blog.

    Thoughts?

    Really love your idea but...

    SPOILER ALERT

He's hopefully and thankfully dead. Very meh ending but whatev's. 'Spousal' (using that term loosely) abuse gone wild as a method of suicide gets a big thumbs down.
EDIT: Oh god...there's another book?!? Guess Drizz't might have only been mostly dead.

    SPOILER ALERT (snip)
The idea would still survive without that popular novel character, of course. If they could add Pikeminster to the game, then others could be. Not only from a "canon" standpoint but also by licensing, it would be easier just to invent someone new. I haven't even read any R.A.S., so you caught me red-handed (or is that black-handed)?

Well, I haven't read the new one that I wasn't aware of from the new series that's going to try and move the FR canon along. So apparently Drizz't may or may not be dead. The only thing more disappointing to me than the way he may or may not have died would be if he was still alive. Put the guy out to pasture already - he's taken enough of a beating. :|

I think a better idea is to look at the Underdark Drow as identifying the past slave history of the Eberron Drow, seeing them as being easy targets for enslavement, and the incursion is more along to create a new slave workforce for some evil scheme of Lloth.

However, you have a lot of Drow action / lore already in both Faerun (I think half of the quests involve Drow) and Eberron (namely Sands, Dreaming Dark, Red Fens, Sentinels) that it probably would be nice to focus on another race.

No more drow, especially with the stupid CR-inflation we have now. Who wouldn't love a quest full of CR70 drow with 80 SR?

    No thank you.

Time to give the Drow a rest, and please please please no Drizzt. Ever. That character is hands down one of the worst things to ever happen to D&D - and **** Salvatore for inflicting Do'Urden, the Edward Cullen of the Forgotten Realms, upon us.

Honestly, he's more Bella than Edward Cullen. All he did toward the end of the series is mope all the time.

He's the worst qualities of both, really.

You know...never thought of him that way but yeah. The need to save everyone, carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders...check Edward. Then, when things don't go well....MOPE!

No. Drow suck and are terrible lorewise. They are chaotic with all the trappings of extreme law. because um, lulz.

And Drizzt is even worse. I'd rather them delete the game than make more of this nonsense.

Note: I am fine with Eberron drow.

Dude . . . Salvatore wrote the backstory for Neverwinter, there is no way we'll see him in DDO.

If there's Drow overload, that's understandable.

My thoughts are to get more Eberron gaming back into the mix.

It's bad when Teh Troll hits you for 49 acid damage.

Haha, not quite what I meant. I meant NO MORE LLOTHITE drow. At all. I find their race to be a nonsensical mix of chaotic evil with extreme lawful evil tendencies just to increase the "cool" factor for an otherwise dysfunctional race.

Actually blame TSR for telling Salvatore to stop what he was writing on and to make more Drizzt books.
