Depositing plat in Shared Bank

I have bought a Shared Bank for my account with 30 space.

When i came back to the game after a very long absence, i noticed the ability of the Shared Bank to hold plat.

The thing is, i cannot deposit any plat to it, cause the "Deposit" button is greyed-out. I can only withdraw plat, but there's no plat in it...

So i'm asking: Is this WAI? Do i have to buy the option to deposit plat in my Shared Bank? Or should i be able to make deposits normally? Also, how much plat can my Shared Bank hold (provided i solve the depositing issue)?

Correct in the first instances. The shared plat-bank is an additional purchase over and above the shared item-bank.
Although VIPs get the first tier for free IIRC.

Thanks. So there are various tiers of plat-holding capability for Shared Banks.
Imo, it's a bit silly to have a Shared Bank where you can't deposit any money. I think it would be more appropriate to get the 1st tier for free, regardless if you're VIP (and maybe give the 2nd tier for free to VIPs in order to make them happy). And spend more TPs if you want the next tiers unlocked.
I understand that Turbine -and any other company- wants to make money, but i'd appreciate them much more if they implemented such mechanisms in a way that they don't stare you right in the eye asking for money. They should be more subtle and gentle about it, imo. The way they do it diminishes my fun factor, and makes me actually want to spend less money in the game. That's how i personally feel.

In case this part makes anyone wonder...
I would be fine if my Shared Bank looked the way it did before Turbine added the plat-holding capability. But now it has a plat-balance on top which shows zero plat, and a non-functioning "Deposit" button (and a ...potentially functioning "Withdraw" button), that looks like it's broken. Which is like starring at you, screaming "Give us your money (TPs) to fix this so that it doesn't look so silly".
