    Default Explorer Area Reset Item

Simple concept: add an item to the game (likely available through the DDO Store) that allows you to reset the slayers, rares and explorers in and explorer area.

Double click the item to open a trade-in interface. It would list all of the available explorer areas. Select one, click "Trade" and get an item for that specific explorer area. Double click that item to open a dialog to confirm to reset the S/R/E for the selected area.

The OP is wanting the ability to reset the counters not the instance.

Sound like a great idea considering how much they will dry up after a few ETRs.

I'd /Sign the Op's suggestion IF and Only IF the Devs could make it so that it could ONLY be done once ALL Slayers are Completed!

NOT on 1500/9000 or on 8,799/9000 but on 9000/9000!

Was going to say much the same, except make it for only when all goals are completed - not just slayer. Max out all the benchmarks in an explorer zone, explorers/rares/slayers, then it can be reset - not before. I'd also suggest a 10% reduction in XP with each reset.

Not 100% sold on the idea, but I'd not hate it if it were implemented.

I support this idea, I love explorer areas and hate that they get "consumed".

However, I don't see why this has to follow the "raid timer reset" model of being a Store item. Really, having to buy an item to get one-time access to maybe 3-4 quests' worth of total XP is a little steep. I think its much more analogous to the "quest XP ransack" model, and as such, I don't think its unfair to ask that they reset over time...

Have it work like Chest ransacks. Explorer objectives will "reset" after a week or whatever, meaning you get XP again next time you visit, and you'll get the "all complete" XP again once you've revisited all the Explorers. They'd just have to give you a permanent "explored" flag after your first completion of Explorers, so you could preserve your full-map access and Navigator access after reset.

Likewise, you'd have an "all time" Slayer count and a "weekly" Slayer count. The "all time" would give you XP the first time you hit each milestone, like it does now (which will let you hit those really big ones), and the "weekly" would reset a week after your first kill, allowing you to go back for another 7-day spree and hit the earlier Slayer milestones again.

I don't think there's any reason to redo Rares. They still give you XP for multiple completions, and actual loot as well, so I think they're fine as-is.

That item in particular doesn't exist, but there is a workaround for that in the DDO store. Instead of buying a reset for the explorer experience, you can buy the experience directly.

Instead of paying to have more game to play by buying adventure packs, Turbine is now generously allowing us to pay them for the privilege of skipping content and getting the XP or loot directly.

While I wouldn't have doom hysteria if they did make something like this, I can see a few downsides. One, it's a lot of experience at the upper levels, which I presume is the main issue for the op wanting this. The lower levels have a level expiration for ages and no one cared, so I feel safe guessing on that. It's slow experience, but it is a lot. Especially if it becomes and endless loop. Although I would hope that people would still prefer actual quests, who knows.

People seem a bit honked about having to do a variety of quests instead of grinding rusted blades ad infinitum, so I don't really know how many a change like this would actually affect. And I do kina wonder why it would even be necessary with the quest ransack changes so that every quest resets every day, but I guess some people just love slayer areas. Or possibly hate running quests for fun and xp, like carnival and Sentinels. When I was level 20 and starting up on my epics I started there, and people acted as if I wanted to chop of the heads of their firstborns for 'wasting my time on that *insert phrase of your choice*'. I was told over and over no worthwhile loot (not that s/r/e areas have much either really).

Two, you don't see many groupings for s/r/e's. Some who realize it's faster with more people, so occasionally you see one pop up, but not often. And a lot of the populace (according to the forums anyway) seems to really want Turbine to encourage grouping (instead of, you know, posting their own lfm's! Turbine has to make other people do it and have the star!). This would seem counterproductive to those players needs.

On the other side of the fence, if there really is a market for this, it would be a revenue stream for Turbine (who will be accused of money grabbing as if no business ever opened it's doors to earn a profit) and won't really change the existing groupings much. Just will spread people out further into soloing or small groups, as slayers are a lot easier than quest mobs.

Also on the pro side is choice for players is always good. While my point above about not getting why people don't want to quest instead stands, it doesn't really matter that I think like that, if player b and c think different let them have their fun their way.
