But then the min/maxers would cry like little school girls because skills that they never take and deem worthless would have use. It would bring challenge and party diversity. Teamwork would be vital.

You see, people that claim they want a challenge don't want to be challenged for the most part.
How is "teamwork" getting someone out of being one shotted by an assassin? Please explain.

The issue with EE right now is stat inflation is the only difficulty increase mechanism, and the fact that most of the quests can be cheesed to completion means it wouldnt matter if mobs could hit for a ten thousand hp per hit - players would cheese it all the same.

The issue isnt that people dont want to be challenged - the issue is that what would actually need to be done to create actual challenge in DDO would be a huge undertaking. Right now any real challenge is compensated for by moar stat inflation.

The problem with stat inflation is the damage / HP / saves does not scale the same with mobs as it does with players. We play a game where bosses can have a hundred thousand HP, but hit for 300. A draconic burst from a mob at full power would wipe the party, because most party members in EE are around 1k HP.

DDo made its own bed on being able to use any other mechanism than a sliding scale of stats to challenge folks years ago, when it became acceptable that character do alot of damage but have fewer HP while mobs do less damage and have alot of HP.
