    Default Human Archmage Build

Considering using the lr 20 to migrate into a pure wizard with a focus on enchantment spell casting. Max int, con secondary, decent strength, dump wisdom, dex, cha. Playing around some in the eldtrich knight enhancements too reason for the shield feats. Here is rough sketch for feats:

    8 Feats (Human)
    Shield Mastery
    Improved Shield Mastery
    Spell Focus Enchantment
    Spell Penetration
Greater Spell Penetration - might change to a greater necromancy focus, use Epic destiny twist and AP to get needed spell pen when needed or mana feats x3
    Greater Spell Focus Enchantment
    Insightful Reflex
    (1 more but what?)
(wizard past life if you have or spell focus feat necro or mana feat )

    5 Wizard bonus feats
    Maximize
    Heighten
    Empower
    Quicken
Extend - displacement, haste, rage - may be changable

    3 Epic feats
    Epic Spell Focus Enchantment
Epic Spell Penetration - Might change to epic focus necromancy or mana feat
    Ruin

    2 Epic Destiny
    Spell Power Force
    Spell Hellball ?

Enhancements looking at going 41 archmage for capstone and tier 5 supremacy, 21 eldritch knight for shield and light armor with no hinderance and Force spellpower so I can use the light blue t3 armor I have crafted and EE bulwark shield, 11 for vampire and self healing and enchantment DC boost with whatever left over to grab the 1 int in human. Should have very good PRR and some melee ability but nothing to write home about with self healing. Primary goals of the build is to control, then survive, and finally dps. EE focus.

Grabbing enchant SLA's with the plan of spamming 1 mana hypnotism for the -3 will debuff with a chance to apply magister -10 will from tier 3 epic destiny. Once held reflex saves take a dive. Planning on using dots and melee on bosses, maybe even burning blood, melf's, black dragon bolt for efficiency. Using ruin, + human spell power boost, + hold when arcane supremacy procs for burst damage and big numbers.

Epic destiny's I could see this in shiradi, magister or draconic. Twists depending on which one your in but burst, magister enchanment specialist and shield mastery heavy considerations.

Gear for spell power, bulwark shield has a purple which will get force, then frostbite blade has two reds and a worthy support dps abilitys in vulnerability and lethargy. Slot with Negitive for healing and choice of element. Sage cloak for +5 enchantment DC, Sage bracers for 20% force crit and spell pen, Sage Locket for evo and spellcraft. Blue dragon set for 15 spellpower and 9% crit. +10 clever trinket of +10 resistance or illusion gloves for Int. Rest good stuff with slots to make sure you have stats covered.

    So thoughts on build?

I think that Reconstruct will not work on this character

Reason for vampire to heal with negative energy.

Shield Mastery req's shield prof; I doubt the EK enh counts.

Have you considered waiting until we can TR into Iconics? A Morninglord would be a natural fit for this concept: +4 INT, +3 Spell Pen, +1 Enchant DCs, up to -15% ASF.

If you want to focus on Enchantment, take Augment Summoning, because it'll benefit all Summons, Hires and charmed enemies - and stacks with Grand Summoner (Magister T5, result: +8 to all Abilities). For Enchantment flavor I'd take Mass Frog instead of Hellball. I have no experience yet with the new Eldritch Knight tree, apart from what wiki says. It seems that one can get shield proficiency and -15% ASF only for shields, but Tower Shields have 50% Spell Failure.

For Enchantment purpose I think I'd stay pure caster atm. If you think to have enough SP then don't take Mental Toughness feats, but I'd either drop both Maximize and Empower or at least one of them, because they contribute no benefit to Enchantment spells or SLA's. Maybe the EK SLA's can get empowered and/or maximized, but I can't say anything secure about this yet. For melee purpose I'd rather take the Abjuration or Illusion line in AM atm.

Yes shield prof does screw things up. Looks like if I want to use a shield I'd add 2 fighter levels.

    8 Feats (Human)
    Spell Focus Necromancy
    Spell Focus Evocation
    Spell Focus Enchantment
    Spell Penetration
    Greater Spell Penetration
    Greater Spell Focus Enchantment
    Insightful Reflex
Past Life Wizard or Shield Deflection

    2 Fighter Feats
    Shield Mastery
    Improved Shield Mastery

    5 Wizard bonus feats
    Maximize
    Heighten
    Empower
    Quicken
    Extend

    3 Epic feats
    Epic Spell Focus Enchantment
    Epic Spell Penetration
    Ruin

    2 Epic Destiny
    Spell Power Force
    Spell Power Acid

Estimated PRR - 10 shield, 10 undead form, 10 Eldritch Knight, 30 Legendary Shield Mastery, 7 armor, 16 blue slot gem = 83 prr, 40 coming from the shield feats. The twist says 15 but actually provides 30, I have verified this in game.
Double strike - 4% eldritch knight core, 2% from enhancements, 15% from shield feats and twist = 21%
    Estimate elemental damage - 4d4 average 4-16 20/2 = 10 per strike * 300% = 30 per, kinda weak but we get lvl 9 spells

Considered power attack, cleave, great cleave but at a starting 14 strength and all level ups going into intelligence weapon damage isn't so hot. Its all about hitting the target and letting elemental damage do its thing.

Pure I'd drop the shield feats completely and use orbs and go with focuses.

If you do wiz 18 / ftr 2, you will only have 4 wiz feats, not 5. Also, I believe you're overestimating your PRR: it's 30 PRR total from Legendary Shield Mastery + tower shield (25 if hvy).

Yeah, doesn't work out too badly at all. And with all that, even at only the first rank, the PM skeleton isn't entirely useless. Well worth 2 AP.

This, though, I don't get. Mass Frog is Transmutation, not Enchantment. And it's DC is Wisdom-based, not Intelligence-based. What's the logic I'm missing here?

That right, do lose one wiz feat I'd drop extend in that case.

I've double checked that PRR in game, you get 10 from the large shield and 30 for the twist. Twists says 15 it is lying and it is giving 30. My character has a 28 base prr, equip shield, its 38, twist in legendary shield mastery its 68. I doing this as a twist outside of unyielding sentinel so no extra prr from that. I equip madstone tower shield its 73, 5 higher.
