Yet another of my Pet Hates in DDO:
The 4 Lvl Default Range on the LFM that penalizes those who don't realise that this equals a 50% Power Level XP Penalty to those at the bottom of the Range.
BB Lvl -3 is the Safe Range that all Newbies should be informed of by the game i.e. SHOULD be the Default Range.
If Leader of Party is above that Range for any reason then Party Leader's Lvl - 3 SHOULD be the Default Range
If Leader is Below that Range for any reason then the Default SHOULD be Leader + 3
So Say the LFM is for VoN 3 {Gateway to Khyber} and the Leader is Lvl 12 {above BB Lvl} the Default Lvl Range would revert to 9-12
Leader is Lvl 7 and looking for a Challenge or attempting Normal - Default reverts to 7-10
Leader is at BB Lvl {11} - Default = 8-11
Leader of course can change this to his/her satisfaction still BUT the default no longer penalizes those new to the game!
Yeah, it should be the range for full XP. So from base-2 up to base+1 for Normal, and from base-1 up to base +2 for Hard/Elite.
Oh, and the correct level range for full XP for wilderness areas, too.
This has been a peeve of mine since "Public Groups" were first introduced, and one of the reasons I never use them for quests. (I wouldn't use them for Wilderness areas either if there was any other way to get the wilderness name to show in the LFM.)
Bottom of dialog just before you enter. Choose the left circle for a private entry, then enter quest.
My biggest problem with public LFM is the huge banner notice that comes up twice, and won't go away until its "show" timer expires. Please give us a way to clear this notice off the screen faster.
