Game just dies, no errors, no nothing.

Anyone else ever see anything like this? Started happening very recently, like only a few days ago.

I'll be playing, when all of a sudden the game quickly goes away. As if I just minimized the window (I don't play in full screen mode)... except honestly there is usually more of a delay with minimizing the window than that. Certainly far more delay if I tried to quit out. And I get none of that standard Microsoft stuff about a program crashing, it seems like as far as Windows is concerned, I did it on purpose.

Windows 7, and nothing has changed recently except my nvidia drivers have updated. And I'm not really positive that the start of the problems correspond that well to it, but there is at least a chance. Before this issue, the game has performed great on this box.

Today I even tried doing a fresh install... but it still happened once while playing.

It doesn't happen all that often, if I had to guess, I'd say maybe once every hours or two.

The lack of any information like a normal crash has makes me think I'm probably SOL, but I figured I'd post here on the off chance someone knows some secret trick I don't.

Cannot believe I didn't think to check......

As it turns out, I have way too much crud in there from a different issue. So I fixed that, cleaned out the logs, and will check them the next time this happens.

Not sure if it will help me fix this problem, but a solid suggestion. Got something else fixed.

honestly I forget the log all the time too... Hopefully it helps.

I finally bought a new laptop because my old 6+ years old pc was struggling even to do simple quests... sooo this new laptop is powerful enough to run the game on high settings without lagging, but i keep crashing me too.
I think i've found the cause tough: when a player, or even myself, equip and make visible the Pumpkin cosmetic hat from mabar, my game just crashes to desktop without errors and such. I tested it: when running solo on some deleras quests, i was doing just fine, but when i got to rebuff on my guild ship and equipped the jack o lantern then after a couple secs i crashed. And it happened again when i was going to buy some scrolls on the marketplace.

If you are not already using it. Try the DDO Preloader:

If nothing, it'll make your game load faster (unless you are using SDD).

Also there was a bug with the audio system, if you are set to use hardware for "Sound Playback" change it to Software. Both of these "fixes" have helped stabilize my guildmates systems.

Windows 8 here and it's happening here too... and scrap that mabar cosmetic thing... it happens everywhere even while soloing. It gets extremely annoying when you start a quest and 1/5th in you just crash to desktop. Next time i'll launch the game i'll start up the crash log too and post it here so you can see what's happening.
