A pure rogue Assassin - sorry, D&D stopped calling them "thieves" after 2E
- is still your best choice for sneak atk DPS; and a drow makes a natural fit with rogue thanks to their INT & DEX bonuses.

This presumes a +5 DEX tome to qualify for Imp Sneak Atk; hope you've been farming Mabar! W/out it, you'll have to tweak stats a bit. This build really focuses on maxing out sneak atks + Assassinate DCs; but the heavy investment in Acrobat boosts defenses (Imp Defensive Roll, Kip Up, Subtlety), as well as adding Haste Boost & Faster Sneaking. While leveling, your best bet is using rapiers / short swords to take advantage of drow racial weapon bonuses, but once you have Knife Spec, you're better off switching to daggers or kukris. Named daggers are more common, but
eMidnight is an obvious choice for an Assassin (+2 Assassinate, INT to dmg). Finesse can be swapped out if you only use daggers, kukris, and staves. I don't consider Nothing is Hidden worth the AP cost, but feel free to tweak things so you can take it.
Multiclassing a rogue is about giving up sneak atks & Assassinate DCs to address their shortcomings: i.e., low HPs, lack of self-healing & buffs, feat shortage, low Will & Fortitude saves, etc.
