Im genuinely curious to know what the people who get so annoyed by these things....are so annoyed about

Are you actually embarrassed that your character has a pumpkin head? Like....for real embarrassed...the same as a real life embarrassing situation?

Maybe you think your character actually looks cool and this somehow hurts their rep around town?

Is it an immersion issue? I can see that if you're a roleplayer and it lasted an hour or something.....but 13mins?

Is it a control thing? Like people cant handle a stranger affecting them in any way, no matter how insignificant?

Im a little surprised at the anger regarding these things. I figured most ppl just laughed it off

I thought I read somewhere that cosmetic helms blocked the pumpkin head effect.

I'll have to test this now, and report back.

tested: The Cosmetic Helm will stop the Pumpkin Head, but not the Skull Head.

    It's supposed to, yup.

Doesn't work though from my initial testing. I tried with the old Bunny Hat, found a quiet corner somewhere and threw a skull at myself. Skull took precedence.

Yah I just tested at the mote trader, if i tagged others, oh well, LOL.

And you are right, they don't seem to stop the Skull, but they do stop the Pumpkin however.

I have the spider mask on all my characters, when it is in the cosmic headgear spot on my character sheet I am immune to the graphic of the pumpkin head although I am still under the affect of it. So if I remove it from the headgear spot it will pop up on my character.

I use to hate getting pumpkin’d but now I don’t care anymore. I was getting hit at least once a week for a while. If someone wants to waste their time and effort in chasing me around so be it. I am happy to hangout online with some good friends. This is a game so be social and have fun!

These grenades have no other purpose than griefing. There is not a single legitimate use for them. They should be removed from the game.

/death removes the effect. Followed by leaving the party and /squelch of the @$$H0L3 who did it.

Instead of questioning how "sensitive" people are who already picked how they want their character to look and don't appreciate other people being able to unilaterally change that, how about some equally wild theories about how these griefers must have been abused as children and so now act out that abuse on others?

Oh, BTW, Turbine, please fire whatever idiot thought these things would be good ideas.

No don't fire them. Just make it so that anyone in the office that wants to can put a mask, hat, or hood on them and they HAVE to wear it for 13 minutes. They can optionally use 1 hour of sick leave if they want to remove it before the 13 minutes is up.

This doesn't interfere with your game at all, unless you think the game is staring at your characters' lovingly crafted Half Elven face.

Seriously, forced emotes were a problem because they cancelled you doing other things. This? This is just harmless.

So, basically, /not signed on account of complete overreaction by a bunch of people who take the game way too seriously.

Oh, no! They temporarily inconvenienced my pixels!

If this is really something that even makes it on to your radar as something to worry about, well, all I can say is: you've got it pretty good.

    This is an utter non-issue.

if someone is following you about then you can go annon on the who list so they can't look up your location then just instance hop or jump into a house teleporter.

as for /death, if you do that in a tavern then there won't be a repair bill

another way to avoid the harassment from a single individual is to park your character when you get hit, get up from the PC and go make a snack/drink or any other activity to leave your character idling. this will tick the "not getting a rise" box that puts such people off. if it is one person then they will get bored and go find someone else who is a lot more animated in their dislike of their tricks. ideally you would just keep playing and ignore it but i assume that is not something you able to do at this stage. so a break from the PC to bore the harasser is the next best thing.

also if you have asked them to stop in tells and they are now following you about the city then the harassment tool should work just fine. you will not be told what the GM's have done, that is standard policy.
