Default Please Add Opt-Out for Forced Emotes

I am now being actively griefed by someone using the Mabar grenades that force your character to wear a Pumpkin Head or Spider Head. This became a terrible problem in LOTRO and your development team ultimately added a much desired and much praised opt out function for forced emotes. Please add such an opt out function to this game, that permanently disables these griefing weapons against any character with Forced Emotes disabled. If I do not want to hear from someone or join their groups, I most certainly do not want them following me around and griefing me with weapons, provided by you, to bully and intimidate.

    Thank you.

If your being actively grieved report the person for harassment, and in Lieu of an opt out theirs always the Party Po0per potion from the mote vendor, but that cost more motes than it should.

    Way more motes!

    And worse...

Far Far too many TP during the other 11.5 Months of the Year!

And this with the fact that these Pots only protect you for ONE HOUR on ONE CHARACTER! - Make it a Month and Account Based and I promise you I'll buy one Every Month {at Today's Price that is!}.

Let's face it 99% of the timer on a Party ****er Pot is a complete waste!
The chances of you getting griefed like this more than once an hour {outside Mabar} are so low as to be negligible {I get griefed maybe 3 or 4 times a YEAR in this way BUT Again I'll pay for a Monthly Account Based Immunity EVERY MONTH - I will NOT pay for an Hour long Immunity at today's Insane Prices EVER!}.

And you know what's the Worst thing about these Prices?
The fact that the Grenades are FAR Cheaper than the Immunity item!!!!!! - Turbine Condoned GRIEFING is Still GRIEFING!

Oh and to those people who seem to think that /Death and a Repair Bill is Fair and Just - You're Wrong!

    Default I was wondering...

When this yearly thread about the sheer grief and terror and horror of having a pumpkin head placed on you would return. I mean for the love of all that is pixels representing a fantasy character that does heroic acts in a world not of our own design, how could anyone condone turning the great hero XxXxXDrizztXxXxX into a drow with a pumpkin head?

    Bowserkoopa,

Apparently Raid Bosses need attacks that mess with our Pixelated hero's appearance so they can win via forefit

Work around for you OP. (I hate the stupid grenades too) Any cosmetic hat/helmet will prevent the grenades from affecting you. You can even have the cosmetic set to hidden.

*Edit* This information seems incorrect. It's supposed to work that way, but y'know, Turbine.

They already have this for the Mabar bombs. It's called Potion of the Party ****er. They are available as turn ins for motes, and I think also through the DDO Store.

Yup, though interestingly a pot costs 500 Motes while the bomb costs 10 Motes.

I've always thought the Pumpkin Head grenades were a very questionable design choice. I don't enjoy being subject to somebody else's cosmetic choices, personally. They should have been self-only from the get-go, and I've held the belief that the only reason why they were not was so that Party Po oper (come on now... y'all named the thing) potions could be sold. It does not bug me a lot, mind you, I've just alwasy found it to be an odd design decision. I don't know the OP's situation, but I can see their point. If they've had trouble with an individual enough to squelch them, then it has to be troubling to be griefed intentionally by a person they've tried to have no contact with.

OP, get a screen-shot of them doing it - and report them for abusive conduct. I think it sucks that you are being harassed, and wish you a speedy resolution.

I find the pumpkin heads annoying myself. I am interested that there seems to be a workaround, will have to try that.

    Yep, I hate these things.

Limit them to people in your own party/guild maybe.

Then you take up grievences with the guild leader.

*sigh* OP, that is NOT an emote, it is a cosmetic.

If you so feel you are getting singled out, you file a report for harassment.

Lastly, you really need to get a clue of what bullying really is.

I think they're fun. And heck, they don't last that long, anyway.

While not the solution the OP is looking for (And the potion of the party ****er has already been mentioned)

Let me offer a bit of advice when dealing with these people:
    1. They are looking to get a rise out of people. When this occurs ignore it, no rise then no fun. They will then look elsewhere.
    2. If you are being harassed by a particular person, report them. Don't engage them further - Remember they are after getting a rise out of you.

I agree the "Cure" should not be more expensive then the "Cause"

I understand people do not want to participate and some do.

And that's why people can annoy him all the time, right? Some people just can't accept a *no* or deliberatly ignore it. I agree with Memnir. These Pumpkin heads don't increase my fun in DDO, in fact, they lower it as do all cosmetic changes I cannot control.

If they increase the fun for some people on the expense of others, then there need to be a change.

I don't really care what my character looks like anymore, I just hit "randomize" 2-3 times at character creation now and that's enough for me.

Having a Pumpkin head is a change. It doesn't affect me much.

It sounds to me like there is something more to this story than just throwing a pumpkin grenade.

There are simple ways to get rid of griefing:

    1) ignore
    2) squelch
    3) report

I personally think pumpkin grenades are harmless fun and add to the flavour of the game. I understand some can feel otherwise, so perhaps limit them to party members or prevent them from being used in public instances (except maybe Delera's Graveyard).

if there is, indeed, ONE SINGLE PERSON following YOU around and re-pumpkin-ing you at every convenience... report them. that is harassment.

if you are randomly getting caught in the crossfire while walking thru Mabar, like my guildie was last night (he got pumpkin'd randomly 3 times, each time after a successful dragon, each time by a different random person) then you have 2 choices. suck it up a deal for 15 minutes. or get a cosmetic hat of some sort. cosmetic hats protect you from the pumpkin

    also, it's not an emote
