Since coming to the depressing realization that ninjaspy core enhs are garbage for anyone not a multiclass monk, except for a hand full of tree abilities, I think I need to rework my build entirely.

I have a heavy investment in con/wis/dex, and would love suggestions how I can build a non-spy build. I am a drow 20 pure monk, which had focused on gtw fighting for my wraps at that point but was hoping (erroneously) to maximize my shortsword synergy between drow and spy enhs.

Since then, is there something I can do that would be fun that did not involve the garbage in the spy tree? Thanks!

handwraps -> shintao
sireth -> henshin

pretty much that options if you are pure.. if u had a rogue splah u could add dex to dmg with QS.

If you don't have it already consider swapping in the Weapon Finesse Feat, (Note this is a work around suggestion at best, to get you playable without too much work), this will mean that you can still use DEX for To-Hit with Handwraps, though your damage will suffer a bit if your STR is too low.

Still, it might at least get you playable.

Dumb question, because the ddowiki doesn't exactly tell me. Does anitpode break alignment dr? Because if so, then shintao as suggested breaks demon/devil dr with antipode. I wouldn't mind switching to henshin/shintao over crappy ninjaspy. Thanks

It works the same way it does for weapons. Uses DEX for To-Hit. You still need STR for the Damage, but you can at least get some use out of your character without a complete re-work.

Other alternative if you haven't considered it, is that every character gets a free LR+0, just talk to Kruz in House J (No Heart required), if you haven't used it already you could fix your character properly.

Sweet! Thanks! I have yet to do that. I guess I will need to plan it out in detail. What do you recommend for beginning stats for a drow monk? Where would you put your level-up stats? I have a +5 supreme tome, so that might help some. I noticed that I can get con/wis out of shintao, and dex/con out of ninjaspy. I am planning on going 41 points into shintao for the capstone, which leaves 39 points for elsewhere. I will take 11 points in drow for ambidexterity and 2 dex. Should I take 26 points in ninjaspy for nomercy, leaving me with 3 left over?
