My slow goodbye to DDO

After all the things that have happened over the last few weeks of DDO, the bans and the drastic changes they are making to tr's and etc. It seems to me they are pushing out players with "extreme prejudice".....

I've played DDO since the beginning and it just feels like it is dying and Turbine is driving that coffin nail deeper.

So in saying that, as of 11/23/2013 future dated I know. my year sub is cancelled and I I may not return to ddo. The game is no longer fun because of all the people leaving it in hordes. And those people that left are what made this game what it was... FUN!

I know some of you will be happy that I'm leaving. But you gotta understand DDO for me was a safe haven and a place I could go to relax and now it no longer does that for me. I wish everyone well in there DDO endeavors.

And before some idiot makes all the wrong assumptions due to the timing of the OP, I would like to point out that Witchies is one of the proud legitimate players who absolutely did not participate in the duplication exploit.

I never ever had any infractions playing DDO in the years I've played. I openly am proud of that and never cheated or used exploits other than perching my AA on a rock lol. People can think what they like, everyone is entitled to their opinions. But, I simply am just tired of the game and the direction it is moving in. The trollers and the drama, is enough all on its own to drive people away.
I will say this though, there is also a new mmorpg coming out soon that has caught my eye.

The main reason I have stayed as long as I have is because of the few decent players that where left I considered friends and all around good people. Some where banned and yes I agree to the fullest extent I don't like cheaters. And some just left the game for the same reason I am, and it's because we are tired of the turbine downward spiral.

Sorry for the long rant, I've already gotten quite a few messages accusing me of duping, and I wanted to set it straight of why I'm leaving. It's just that time I guess. And also helps my 1 year sub is expiring next month around Thanksgiving.

No game lasts forever and no players interest in a game lasts forever

Ddo is a game in transition and its too much change for a lot of vets. Too much water under the bridge, too much "i liked it better when"

Any future success will depend on newer players playing on probably fewer servers. Games like ddo cant float 7 (or however many) servers anymore. Too many new shiney games, like you, and others mentioned

All my characters are exclusively puggers, so for me to remember a name over the years is a sign of a great player - as both of you are (as well as thoughtful and kindly). I wish you both good fortune and happiness.

Change is good. Good luck. I appreciate that you opened up so many raids to others outside your guild. I know you aren't an exploiter.

It's tough to see good people leave the game, but I think Turbine needs to maintain the integrity of the game and crack down on exploiters even if they lose some people over it. I feel bad because there are some otherwise good people that made a bad mistake that was out of character after they watched previous exploits go unpunished.

I think Turbine will come around on the TR issue. The current approach is so awful and the feedback so clear that they will ultimately see the light even if they need some time to work things out.

I am not seeing the mass exodus you are but then most of my friends are fairly casual. Most never read the forums or participate in channels.
