Will the old Ottos Box be retroactively changed into the new ones?

I don't think they will change it, but assuming Otto's box works the way they do now they will still provide 1,970,000 xp on a third life vs. 2,000,000 with the new boxes. The main thing with the old boxes is that you have to use it right after leveling to 8 and you want to gain as little xp over the min for level 8 as you can. So slightly less flexibility, but almost as much xp.

While the XP is approximately the same, I would prefer the new box over the old box because (a) the stone from the new box can be used at L1 and (b) the new box contains Reincarnation Reset Potions. Although, since the Reincarnation Timer is being reduced to 3 days I am not sure how valuable that potion will be.

With the new exp system, you need to get 450,000 exp to get to level 8 and 2,420,000 to get to 16. this is a difference of 1,970,000 (on a third life, it gives less on 1st or second life) so with the old stone you would get slightly less exp.

Testing on lam, i used the stone with 450,287 exp at level 8. the old stone with 70% bonus got me to 3,798,798/3,800,000.

still this shows that the exp difference between the old and new stone, is only about 50k, and one has to get the exp at level 1-8 vs level 18/19. though i think it would be faster at level 18/19. due to the higher exp quests.

as for the reincarnation reset timers, if one wanted to, with the new stones, one could grind out several lives a day, i mean farming sane asylum gives pretty good exp/min even at ransack if you have a pot going. takes like 2 minutes to complete. you might be able to get a life every couple hours

You paid for the old version item and you got exactly what you expected. There is no chance at all it will be replaced. That's like asking to have your Windows 8 replaced free of charge when Windows 9 comes out.
