    Default Tempest Of The North

    This 36pt build will battle mostly as a strong twf melee yet still possesses excellent ranged dps when many shot is off timer. It also provides a lot of versatility and strong defenses. I have a pair of celestias and a pinion so I feel this build will put those to good use. Let me know what you think.

    Looks like an updated take on Arlathen's rgr / bard build. You may want to consider ftr splash for another feat, Extra Action Boost, and cheaper Haste Boost (1 AP per rank instead of Tempest's 2).

    That is a similar build, which I had never seen before. I did consider a level of fighter for the reasons you suggested but decided I like the extra level of bard for the additional length in songs and spells, the extra third level spell and improved inspire courage. I know it's not much of a difference, but something I thought was better than another feat, which is not really needed since the build is human. The extra skill point per level is also helpful from being human. HE dilettante rogue is certainly nice but costs a considerable amount of enhancement points to max out. I felt spending those action points elsewhere was more beneficial. I needed to spend action points to reach higher tiers in tempest anyway so the cheaper haste boost doesn't really provide an enhancement point savings. The extra action boost would be nice but certainly not a deal breaker. At this point we are just splitting hairs but it is always helpful to get some other options to consider.     Consider dropping 1 ranger level for 1 fighter instead of dropping bard? You lose a core enhancement from ranger (and free deflect arrows and if you really want this just pick it up as the fighter feat) and gain cheaper haste boost and extra action boosts. And you still get all the free goodies from ranger feats.

    Don't forget that the second part of the tempest deflect arrows enhancement states "You also gain an additional 10% chance to make off-hand attacks when dual wielding." That's worth more to me than a cheaper haste boost, which as stated previously, is not really helpful since I have to spend enough points in tempest to unlock higher tiers anyway. Thanks for your thoughts though.

    Are you able to get your DCs high enough to keep Stunning Blow relevant? If not, I would swap it out for, say, Emp Heal for Rejuv Cocoon.

    Str 64 = 18 base +6 lvls +5 tome +5 heroic enh +3 insight +1 exc +10 item +4 skaldic rage +2 rage spell +2 ship +5 primal scream +3 ED enh

    Stunning Blow DC 60 = base 10 +27 str mod +10 item +6 leg tactics +5 spare hand +2 pl fighter

    He currently wears a hide of goristro that has insight +3 str and stunning +10. Also currently has the spare hand. Currently has used a +4 str tome but I plan on getting the +5 str tome from mabar, 1/3 the way there now. Currently stuns work fine in EH content (has a little lower DC than this build will have). Higher level EE content, 60 DC works well on low fort enemies but not consistent on high fort. Lower level EE content it'll be fine. My monk stuns well in EE gianthold with a 63. So it is a usable DC in most content.

    Nice! That's better than I expected. In that case, any chance you can squeeze in Imp Sunder for -3 Fort debuff? And what about a cleric or FvS splash for Divine Might? Even dump-stated, I'm presuming you can push your CHA to 20+; that should be worth a cpl pts more than +3 Insight STR from gear.

    or
    Cha 32 = 14 base +4 tome +10 item +3 ins +1 exc

    Could go with 11rgr/7brd/2clr. Lose a little, gain a little but could be doable. This type of build I would probably drop str to 16 and move cha up to 14 for +11 str from divine might. Overall gain would be +6 str from a short duration buff. I probably wouldn't go this route with this build because you lose the +10% to offhand attacks, imp inspire courage, song and spell durations. Mostly because of the loss of the +10% offhand and another short duration buff the think about. I definitely have my wheels turning though thinking of builds to splash divine might into. Bard would definitely have some synergy but my thoughts are a heavier bard build would be better suited to that.

    Just got back from lunch and realized that 1 cleric is all you need for divine might. 12rgr/7bard/1clr might actually work. I might have to run that through the generator and see how it looks.

    From Unbongwah's suggestion, I came up with this. 12rgr/7bard/1clr. This will add the equivalent of a power surge clicky and smite foe attack while still retaining the +10% offhand chance at a cost of 26hp, imp inspire courage, one third level spell and slightly shorter songs and spells. Might actually be a slight improvement. Could easily push strength into the 70s. Let me know whatcha think.

    Nice, I know you're probably a bit strapped for AP but I was wondering if there was any way you would be able to fit wand/scroll mastery from radiant servant into the build?

    APs are extremely tight but you could take a couple points from critical damage and accuracy and from elemental arrows and use those for wand\scroll mastery to give +75% effectiveness. This actually turned out to have nice synergy and looks great on paper. Thanks for the interest.
