I was looking through the new reincarnation systems being planned, and the Shadowfell pack, and here's the thing I'm wondering about:

If you didn't pre-order Shadowfell, how exactly can you pick up a Bladeforged past life? There's no way to obtain access to the race if you don't already have it.

You can't, same as if you don't own half-elf or warforged you can't TR into those races.

The Bladeforged Iconic Hero is only available with a pre-purchase of the Shadowfell Conspiracy, either the Collector's or Standard Editions, until Update 20, at which point the Bladeforged (and other Iconic Heroes) will be available in the DDO Store.

Can I get Iconics without purchasing the expansion? Can I buy them after the Expansion launches?

You must purchase one of the Shadowfell Conspiracy expansion bundles to gain access to Iconics when the expansion launches. Iconics will also be available for purchase in the DDO Store in Update 20 - each Iconic type will cost 1295 Turbine Points.

Yes, that covers it. I did a couple of searches to see if I could find something along those lines but came up empty. I was somewhat mystified that Bladeforged aren't already in the store somewhere.
