Exactly. No one is happy about these changes, but I'm not holding my breath for an official response over the weekend (other than Tolero's play nice posts).

Many have stated why this is a bad idea with good reasons. But too many, sound like my 12 year old daughter, screaming stuff about how Turbine has ruined your life and you will never recover from this.

Do you think that with out the backlash they would have lowered the numbers on their own? If so, then the backlash is over blown. But we know that wouldn't have happened.

History has shown that the only time they truly change things is when they receive large amounts of negative feedback.

The scope of the outrage is dramatically higher this time, which seems to suggest that many people were keeping silent and this was a tipping point for them.

Sure they will change the numbers. They have to. That doesn't make things all better. For many people I know, just the mere fact that they thought that they could get away with the way things are now is worse than the actual numbers.

Because experience with Turbine shows that extreme nerdrage is the ONLY way to get anything done here. Extreme rage plus forced overtime. GMs don't respond unless you spam them with requests. Bugs don't get fixed unless people keep posting threads about them. This will not be heard unless people keep yelling.

Numbers aren't even the core of the issue, and even if they halve the numbers, the idea will remain bad. Maybe read up on why people dislike this before posting smug but ultimately ignorant replies.

Trolling. Trolling never changes. Sometimes I wonder if Turbine pays you to derail these threads.

To be fair, I'm sure some of them really are 12 years old.

This is about more than numbers and the amount of grind.

Older content is being rendered obsolete for one of its key purposes (grinding hearts). This promotes buyer's regret and makes premium players more cautious about making future purposes. In addition, narrowing the range of choices for TR grinding to a small set of choices (re-running the same, small number of sagas) will promote boredom and burnout, reducing player retention.

Beyond trust issues, this also goes to judgment. As somebody pointed out, it's TR that keeps established players here and purchases follow because of the player retention that results from players choosing to TR. This change would sharply reduce heroic TRs and may lead to a mass exodus of vets. As a premium player, watching the devs even considering something this dysfunctional makes me more likely to anticipate bad things in the works for DDO and to close up my wallet.

Well, I guess its some small hope that the recent forum activity has been such that it has roused a response from the Community team outside of the standard M-F. I still don't have a whole lot of faith that the folks calling the shots will actually consider our feedback on this. Perhaps I'm just jaded from past actions. *shrug*

Thank you for looking into the issues with users that could not view the Lamannia Discussions section. I hope that you will allow other posts to remain in the General Discussion section; those posts that are merely trying to make sure that other players that might not be watching the Lamannia Discussions section are aware of the drastic changes that might impact them.
