    Default Very Upset With Pumpkinheads

The old pumpkin hats are a silly little Mabar item that people will throw around for about a month and then run out. Now that they are introducing the permanent pumpkinheads it is just going to be the norm now to have pumpkinheads running around year round. Also the very dumb head spiders. (Not the Xachosians but the new Mabar ones)
I chose to play this game because of the D&D environment and its' lore not to see childish looking clowns like this running all over town. Where will it end before we are playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure (based on 3.5)

And yet pumpkinheads are exactly why I'll get outta my real life long enough to grind mabar, I love them. You won't see the whole world wearing them, but part of living in a society of freedom means allowing others their choices too. Even when you don't particularly care for that choice.

What's wrong with being childish while playing a game?

I think what people are most upset about is it makes your skin orange. Might as well name the game DDO: New Jersey.

    Mighty bold talk for a green-skinned bridge-dweller.

Nothing if I am playing Angry Birds, but I play DDO to experience the Dungeons & Dragons worlds and that isn't even possible now because the developers of this game are turning it into a joke.
I don't know why WOTC would let these hacks destroy their IP. It's insulting.

he doesn't like that it kills the immersion.

While we're at it . . . remove Astral Shards from the game and make ship-buffs last until death.

My guildies run as soon as we enter the quests...."Muahahahah you can run but you can't hide!" Can't wait to replenish my stash.

All your arguments of DDO making D&D childish are rendered null and void.

Eh he has a point, DDO is kinda a grown ups MMO, that's trying to not be visually childish.

Imagine if in the middle of the LOTR, movie Peter Jackson had gandolf charge in with a clown outfit on, and exclaim "her her every body its gandolfo the wizard clown" how would that be? There are plenty of MMO's for people who don't want the material to take itself seriously so they don't feel geeky playing it, general they can be spoted by their cartoons graphics and refusal to try and be the slightest bit immersive.

But then I hate the rabbit hats and the heavy metal top hat, and etc. Those are at least mostly ignorable, permanent pumpkin hats are just slamming my face in silly lame bs; that won't be possible to ignore.

Go ahead and joke/mock all you want. In a couple months when you realize the pumpkinheads are here to stay you will see where I'm coming from. It's bad enough seeing all the bunny hats and top hats and stupid companions with their dumb hats but these pumkinheads are really big, really orange and stand out in an otherwise slick fantasy setting.

Seems almost like the foundation for a new Xoriat adventure - They Came From the Pumpkin Patch!
Anything can be explained by drunken wizards.

"Hey! I got a piece of the +1 Butter Knife of Victory! Ah-oh, wait, wait. It's just a crummy, normal +1 dagger of ghostbane..."
