i'll post gear later but will be something about: max wis, saves, dex and str (in this order), with enough con + a deadly item.
weapon: pinion with devotion on it.
armor: red or black dragon robe

I'm not sure about: epic destiny feats, epic destiny (probably fotw but considering shadowdancer too)
twists: enlightenment (for ki regen); cocoon; otto's whistler.

p.s. sorry for my bad english

If you want high saves, you need 2 pali. And if you have 2 pali, you might as well twist to gain turn undead to power divine might. This will also give you a ton of strength for bow strength. UMD doesn't hurt either.

If you have 6 monk 2 pali, then you have 12 levels available for fighter or ranger/pali, depending on how you want to play.

A 12 fighter, 2 monk, 4 pali could also get the magical training and Emp H feats and heal with cocoon if that is what you want.

He dumped CHA, trying to get enough STR for OC, Dex for IPS, CON to not be squishy, and WIS for 10K stars I can't see how you'd fit in CHA also. sure, he could reach the 20's still just with gear and tomes, but what class would he dump? I guess it would have to be ranger, something like 12/6/2 Ftr/monk/paly (4 extra fighter levels helps cover bow str, manyshot, precise shot losses, can twist to get turns for DM, gains power surge)

Too me it looks like a moncher variant focused on higher DPS at the cost of some survivability. You won't have paly saves and you went for shintao instead of ninja for shadow veil, which may be a mistake. DPS should be outstanding though with manyshot, 10k, keen edge, OC, master of forms (earth) and FotW.

I have a 12 fighter 6 monk 2 druid personally. I want cocoon with the higher dps then monkcher so I concur with your general concept. I think that Arcane Archer is better then kensai for dps though invested fairly heavily in kensai, but Arcane Archer was my tier 5.

PS I don't mean to high jack your post, I was also looking into the same split 8/6/6 as you but thought of something a little different. 11ranger/6monk/3pally.

I am getting close to finishing off my completionist. I have played a straight ranger AA, 11/r 9/m AA, 12f/6m/2r AA and a 12m/6/2ftr AA so far. but haven't played those verison since the new enhancements came out. So I have been looking at different combos for my final life AA.

My thinking here is 11 ranger gets you all the free AA n TWF feats for free. so dex only matters if you want Combat Archery. otherwise dex can be pumped up via enhancements (not dumped) and only needs to be high enough for saves. This leaves you the ability to work on str n wis. It appears that you can go to tier 5 on AA (h-elf or elf) and still use enhancements for pally/monk or tempest TWF lines for meleeing/defense etc. for your flavor of play style. I might be missing something but looks like you can get to tier 4 of tempest with only 6 lvls of ranger. So going to 12 or more of ranger is only good for spells or core abilities. It also leaves a lot of room for feats being you get your normal (7) feats selections + 3 monk feats to play with. depending on where u are on twists you can use cocoon twisted with rainbow/prism n have fury as your main destiny. your saves should be high with self healing n buffing abilities (resists). healing would come from cocoon (with max n empower heal), you would have a lay on hands plus you will also have some ranger spell healing if need be with your healing amp. immune to diseases from monk and pally gets you immune to fear and aura. now you can dump 3rd pally n go 7 monk for wholeness if you like to mediate aspect for healing between fights also.

those are some thoughts on that kind of split. I am still looking into a few things I heard. like many shot n 10k are not working like they use to and share the same timer? is that timer 2mins? ie many shots timer? does it pay to have both? combat archery still isn't working properly? or is not worth it as much. also looking into the 2nd tier earth stance vs 3rd tier earth stance for crit range. is 12 monk a better option?

this was just some of my ideas(thoughts) to maybe help you. My personal preference is survive first kill 2nd. I rather be alive then have the most dps. sometimes. I like to do as much as possible. Even trying to see if i can plan a trapper out of it via arty or rog instead of pally and use pally dilly instead for saves boost. but haven't researched it enough yet to see if trapping n saves would be good enough.

Good luck with what you are tying out. I am interested in how it comes out.

Thanks for the advices so far

I should have said that my main at the moment it's an halfling 12 monk 6 ranger 2 pally. It's a great build, i almost never miss a save and his dps it's great but i was thinking about going 8/6/6 because using 10k star then manyshot than 10k star leaves me with only 30 sec where maybe going melee is a little bit more dps. This makes me think about going pure ranged focused raising dps and lovering the defence side (being in a safer spot than a melee build most of the time). Also arrow of slaying with fury of the wild it's a lot of fun but i already have enough burst dps so maybe going for more keen edge for the tier 5 enhancement it's a better choice. The problem is that i'm too lazy to tr and go back to xp cap to find out 8/6/6 is a bad idea .

p.s. turbine with "manyshot and 10k star share the same cooldown" means that you can't activate both at the same time, you can still use one right after the other.

    Hi,

I'm currently leveling a very similar build (same split, and almost same stats). And I would like to better understand the differences:

I'm an HO (motivated by roleplay consideration), but it doesn't change much.

I didn't plan to take "Weapon Focus: Ranged Weapons" (+1 seems meaningless to me at cap) nor "Greater Two Weapon Fighting". I prefer taking stunning fist (with monk levels and high wisdom it's a good feat if you want to melee a bit), and probably "Improved Critical : blundgeon" for meleeing.
I would be interested by an explaination of your choices here. (to be sure that my choices better fits my playstyle)

For "Weapon Specialization: Ranged Weapons", I don't know how it impact final DPS (I would say maybe 2-5%)...

And BTW, how could you play it with shadowdancer ? I've tried with my last last life monkcher and didn't see a great synergie between the build and the ED. I plan to use mainly shiradi for CC in EE/ LD for rushing EH / FoTW for raids and dps in EE, and the others for fun and test purposes.

If i remeber correctly weapon focus and weapon specialization are needed for the enhancement keen edge (+1 crit treath).
Don't know if stunning fist will be high enough for epic hard-elites anyway i don't think i'll melee much, i took greater two weapon fighting cause there wasn't anything good to grab and improves the level drain of grave wrappings when i need to use them.

Shadow dancer should be good for more sneak attack dices, +3 reflex saves and perma 25% incorporeality (but i'll probbaly stick with fury of the wild)

i'll post gear later but will be something about: max wis, saves, dex and str (in this order), with enough con + a deadly item.
weapon: pinion with devotion on it.
armor: red or black dragon robe

I'm not sure about: epic destiny feats, epic destiny (probably fotw but considering shadowdancer too)
twists: enlightenment (for ki regen); cocoon; otto's whistler.

p.s. sorry for my bad english

I am not so experienced in DDO, but have reached exactly this point in my planning.

If you go 5+F/R/M you can be 2-handed and armed with no penalties for the dual wield(?) (the tier 5 Kensai only requires lvl 5 fighter and lvl 12 char)
On the other hand if you mix in Paladin you get nice saves. I have seen F/P/M armed 1-handed, which looked nice.

But I am thinking of going 2-handed armed with DEX focus: weapon finesse etc, one with the blade.
So I am also thinking 8/6/6, but I guess 12/6/2 is also a possible mix (F/R/M)

Looking at this, I can't seem to figure out whether it is possible to get a good character aiming at great Dual Wielding and using DEX for hit and damage bonus with this mix.
Would the saves be too low?
Will the feats and enhancements be enough?
If I go halfling or dwarf I can improve the saves, but what about axtra feat and skill Points?

Another concern is healing ability. Ranger 6 only gives 2 lvl 1 spells and I am not good at the monk tree so I don't know.
