Shortsword

OK,

I wanted a toon that had trapper skills, but played like a melee. I really wanted to do something with shortswords, even though I know they are not the best DPS in DDO. I wanted a trapper that could run around in Legendary Dreadnaught ED and play with the big boys. EE traps, No Problem! I struggled a bit, because I wanted to be able to have three of the most important things that DDO offers currently in a toon. Which I think are:

1. Veil: Basically a 25% Displacement Clikie that you can ALWAYS have running.
2. Fury Shot. While I primarily run in LD, I do run in Fury when with high DPS toons
3. Self Healing Primarily through Caccon.

Feel free to post advice on how to improve the build. I will post Enhancements and Gear Later.

The final version that I ended up with is 9 Monk, 6 Ranger, 5 Rogue.

It has superior survivability, with self heals primarily through Caccoon and from Max UMD 100% with NO FAIL Heal scrolls, 100% Cure Serious Wands, and Pots. The AC is not uber but the PRR from Earth Stance is Superior and combined with Max Dodge its really nice.

I run around with Shortswords and hope to have two Maxed out Celestias soon. I'm also thinking two Shortswords with Obscenity on them will be pretty nice.

The build needs some tweaking, because I initially did a +20 LR from a pure Rogue. The feats are in order of need for the build, not in order of best to have at level. So if you decide to take the feats out of order or level out of order, be CAREFUL, you may not be able to complete the build properly.

Str: 13 (you must be able to get to 13 early and fast for feat requirements)
Dex: 18 (ALL Level Ups into Dex, this is a DEX build)
Con: 14
Int: 14 (drop this for less than 36 point builds, and then Con if you are really struggling, maybe even go Dex to 16)
Wis: 11 (must be able to get to 13 with Tomes for Zen Archery)
Cha: 8

Place all Level up Skill Points into UMD, Search, Disable Device, Spot, Open Lock and Balance. Depending on Tomes and starting points, put the rest into Balance, Heal and Bluff .


Primary Epic Destiny is Legendary Dreadnaught ( I love blitz), Secondary is Fury (When I know I am in an Uber Party or Raid and can't keep blitz running) I do LOVE Fury Shot) (and while this is not a Str build nor a Dex to damage with Bows, It still does some pretty intense damage)

Twists: Caccon, Standing with Stone, and Brace for Impact


A great build so far, especially for those looking to have some Short Sword Flair!
