Default Need help with my monk.

Hi. So a few months ago I decided to tr my human wisdom based monk, unfortunately after doing so I stopped playing the up coming months. I tr into a half orc monk, was hoping to go str and con dark monk. Now I started playing again and I'm sitting here with a level one monk. So the big thing is what can I do with this character? All the changes to enhancements and feats have kind of thrown me off the original plan. It sounds like wisdom is the way to go now, but I want something that packs a good punch. I'm looking for something that is extremely good at survival, which shouldn't be hard with a monk, that's my top priority. Now I want to be able to hit as hard as possible with that. I want to try to go unarmed and pure monk, but I'm more than happy to look at suggestions or advice. Thank you for reading this, have a wonderful day.

Wis based was always the way to go...

5 dmg per hit.. or the best stun+instakill in game? (Not even 5/hit)

Yeah, go wis based. Enhancement pass nerfed nothing for monks, you just don't need dodge for ninja spy line. Grab stunning fist, levels into wisdom (etc), you'll do just fine. (Spend enhancements wherever, prestiges in the context of u18 are dead.)

Thank you for the advice. I know wisdom based will do fine/good, but are there any more options than that? Not entirely sure how the damage output difference is so low. I know dc's on my monk abilities are priority, but what about the mobs/bosses I can't stun? Will the damage output be good enough? I would like this character to be able to stand strong in EE, not worried about damage mitigation or dc's because that's not difficult to plan/figure out. I just want to be sure that the damage will be good.

I pretty much have a Wis/Str build. At the moment, my str/wis/con are about the same. Buffed, my dex is about 7 less than my wisdom.

The build's goal was to take both OC and Vorp feats. Hence the Str/Wis decision.

I'm a light monk that now has Shadow Veil thanks to the new enhancement lineup. Lots of options out there.

Wisdom is great for both AC and Stuns. I took dex just enuf for the feats I needed.

This is my plan, particularly easy with the +5 tome from Mabar coming up...however OP may not be ready for that unfortunately. As a Half-Orc, Strength 18 + 5 Tome gets you there for OC, everyone else can do 16 + 5 Tome + 2 Level Ups...if/when you can afford to shuffle things around later you can LR and recover a level up or two if you want.

So as a general rule, I'd say just enough base Str for OC (23), base Dex for GTWF (17), then the rest in Wis.

Ahhh.. Okay. Unfortunately I only have +4 time on those stats, that was the highest it went at that time. Overall that sounds good I suppose. I already had the Dex planned, I think I had OC planned but not entirely sure. Is vorpal strikes worth it? Or should I take something else? Any tips on what hand wraps to go for now? Or has that not changed since the updates/a few months ago? Just not sure if they've added anything decent. Thank you for the input.

Yes, I used str/wiz +4 tomes. If you can start both str/wis stats at 16, you'll make it with +4 tomes and 3 lvl ups in each stat. The OP's second life Half-Orc has +2 str racial stat, so it should be possible to start both wis/str at 16 and have a 15 starting dex (+2 dex tomes are easy to find). Add the rest to con for more HP and you're good to go.

OC is definitely worth it. I'm happy with vorp strikes also.
