    Question Pally/monk 10/10?

Is is useable to go 10/10 to play a very tanky monk with scared defence, For encantments i pretty much is gonna max sacerd warrior and then as many enchantments towards the shintano Monk.

Got any ideas for lvl'ing from lvl 12 (where i am now) with 10 lvl pally and 2 lvl monk. Where should i go from here?

    Question

is it then viable to just have 2 lvl's monk and 18 lvls palladin, and use unarmed and still be centered?

By tanky, are you referring to a high PRR?

    Currently you'd require:
6 levels of Paladin for the Sacred Defender Stance, and the Tier 5
2 Levels of Monk for the Shintao Earth stance buff

    This would give you:
Earth stance 15 PRR in earth stance
Iron Skin (Shintao 2) 15 PRR in earth stance
Sacred Defender (SD Core level 6) 10 PRR
Improved SD (SD 1) 15 PRR
Harboured by light (SD 5) 50 PRR

    Total: 105 PRR

On top of that you could also get:
Standing with stone (GMOF 4) 15 PRR in earth stance
Improved Combat Expertise (LD 2) 20 PRR in Combat Expertise stance
Heed no Pain (requires Unyielding Sentinel to be active destiny) 30 PRR in unbreakable
Improved Shield (EK 2) 10 PRR under shield spell
Bone Armor (PM 2) 10 PRR while in a form
Epic Damage Reduction (Epic Feat) 10 PRR

This would require you to have 1 level 4 twist, 1 level 2 twist and be in unyielding destiny while having 6 pally, 2 monk and 2 wizard levels being in zombie, sacred defender, earth and combat expertise forms/stances.

    New Total: 200 PRR.

Assuming you went 12 wizard 6 paladin 2 monk, in CE, Earth, SD stances and either Zombie or Vampire forms (not Wraith) you'd have access to some killer unarmed fighting, displacement and self healing with negative energy while enjoying a 56% damage reduction, evasion and other fun stuff.

    Additional:
I took gear off the first part and didn't add it back later!

    Guardian's Ring: 24 PRR
Conflux bonus set (Trinket plus an upgraded weapon from caught in the web) 15 PRR
Also I missed Sigil of Spell Warding 15 PRR

Total with gear and missed twists: 254 PRR. This is approximately a 60% reduction in damage. Which, when you think about it for all the insane effort put in... is why Turbine should admit PRR is a complete and utter failure and go back to working on making AC work (such as the AC miss chance also functioning as a damage reduction component so that if you have 75% ac coverage, you cannot take more than 30% (105%-Ac coverage) from the monster).

Presuming the goal here is some sort of "pajama tank" using monk & pally, I would do (light) monk 12 / pal 6 / <splash> 2. Monk 12 gets you Master of Forms, Imp Evasion, 3 free feats, plus various monk PrE abilities (e.g., Shadow Veil for 25% Incorp, Iron Skin for +15 PRR in Earth Stance). Pal 6 gets you Defensive Stance (+PRR/threat/saves), Divine Righteousness, Divine Grace, Divine Might, Divine Sacrifice, and Divine Favor; it also unlocks Heal skill and Emp Heal feat for Rejuv Cocoon.

What to splash? To me, the three obvious picks are:
    • Ftr: +2 feats, Haste Boost, Extra Action Boost, +15% threat amp from SD (which stacks w/pal & monk threat, AFAIK), +3 tactics DC
    • Rgr: 3 free feats (good if you want Manyshot), +Pos Spellpower from DWS, Conjure+Imbue+EotW from AA
    • cleric or FvS: Smite Foe+Weakness, +10 PRR, Magical Training, 2nd Divine Might option

Primary stat: either STR for higher DPS & tactics DCs (S.Blow, Imp Sunder); or WIS for higher AC & monk DCs (S.Fist). Enough DEX for ITWF/GTWF w/tome; enough CHA to get decent mileage from Divine Might+Grace; enough INT for primary skills and possibly CE+Imp Trip if going STR-/tactics-based; and decent CON, ofc.

For race, I'd either go human for extra feat, heal amp, +1 STR/WIS, and action boosts/surges; or dwarf for +CON, +DCs, and +saves.

Paladin's Defender stance does NOT require a shield equipped.
    Fighter's stance does.

You can be in Earth stance and Defensive stance, since a friend of mine is running around wielding his epic sword of shadows doing just that as an 8/6/6 build.

I would advise AGAINST the sword and board route, because right now it's horrible. It really is horrible. It offers no additional protection yet removes your ability to be in a monk stance. Total waste of time and a bad suggestion.

Your best aim is to hit 20 with more paladin levels than anything else, then TR. It's not a good idea to be level 12 without an idea of what you're doing for a build, it's better to plan it out first because of feat restrictions (eg needing 6 levels of monk by level 15 if you want grandmaster of forms).

Actually, neither defensive stance requires a shield; what is S&B-only are the higher-tier Gtr Stalwart / Sacred Defense bonuses (+STR/CON/HPs).
