Jupiter can hold 1,000 Earths!

We can't imagine something so huge!

If it were a solid, like Earth and not a gas, like our sun, and we lived on it, the Gravity of it would crush us and we would splat like a pancake!

It almost became a Sun but did not have quite enough mass to create enough heat to start fusion of hydrogen to helium and so on.

It protects Us from incoming meteors, comets, and asteroids with it's tremendous Gravity it acts like a giant lint brush in our Solar System.

It is the Largest Planet.

Without it we would not be here.

The Moon acts like an anchor would do for a boat. Without it We would not be here. The creation of the Moon was a Fluke but that is another story.

The Sun is just the right distance from the Earth and is just the right mass to let us exist, yet another 5 billion years are only left before going Red Giant and destroying Us in the process.

What if Jupiter became a star?
Can we make it a star with the right technology?
With such a low mass that it is almost a star can we start fusion? Would burn longer than 10 billion years? If we could, then we could then colonize Mars much easier imo. The process of making oxygen and the use of plants and photosynthesis and eventually using our knowledge to make Mars work for us for the good of humanity and any aliens that we encounter would think twice about us.

You might be able to colonize Ganymede or Europa. You most definitely would NOT be able to colonize Mars just because Jupiter (with its current mass) was made into a star. It would be a piddly star.

Yes it would be a smaller star but it would provide light that is closer than our Sun to Mars. I take that back it would be in the center of the Astronomical units. Mars would be in a Goldy Lox zone by two stars. Our Earth would get a bit hotter and mass chaos. We need to make sure we don't mess this up. We have but about 1 to 2 billion years left. After that the star we know our Sun will begin to expand. after about 3 billion to 4 billion years our atmosphere will be evaporated. Our Moon and Mars is our Destiny.
