    Question Level sync option

Have you ever considered an optional level sync for dungeons and wilderness areas and mandatory level sync for pvp arenas. You could probably create a data table to keep data such as skill, enhancement, and equipment bonus limits and remove any abilities that require a hire level and drop hp equal to the number of levels different. This may still leave higher level players with an advantage but it will allow higher level players do more with lower level players without creating a new character. This allows higher level players to act a mercenaries and guild members help new recruits. This will help promote a community togetherness that could enhance gameplay. This is just an on the fly description, I'm sure you have the resources to take it further.

Some downscaling might be easy. Like deleveling someone from 28 to 10 for example. Mechanically, it can probably be done. Your enhancement points can also be scaled down, but more than likely you'd have to respend them. Scaling gear down? That's probably more trouble than it's worth. I can't see an easy way to scale down a character quickly. You could have someone take a "snapshot" of their character during an LR perhaps and use that data to scale you down later. You might be able to keep a level 10 version of your character saved somewhere and acquire gear for that version of your character. I still don't think it's worth it, but that might be a way to accomplish what you want. Scaling down quickly on the fly seems like it would be impossible though.

I see nothing in your post that indicates why this would be a good thing. If people wanted to help low level new members, they'd generate low characters and keep them there. I so no reason to think this would do any kind of community building, and in regards to PVP, it's just dumb. Get in the pit at your own risk. Want to just tangle with people your level? There's already a challenge mechanism for that.

There is no good reason to implement your suggestion, and oh my God, how much of the game would they break trying to do so?

As lovely as this feature has been in the MMO's that have implemented it (and implemented it well at that) I would imagine redspectre to be right in the potential complications.
