Not disagreeing w/you, it's just that TRing was never in the plan for this toon, and he's really none the worse.
Oh yeah don't get me wrong it's in no means required or even a high priority. I just didn't like seeing it said it had no benefit to a melee. It's not hard to have the umd for these things at cap but the pl can help get them a little earlier in the life as well. I hope that makes sense, I'm tired and have insomnia at the moment so I may just be rambling.

OK, technically not 'no benefit' but it isn't much as once you are on your second life, everything under Heal scrolls is trivial to UMD and Heal scrolls aren't hard to no-fail if you make a Shroud item or a +6 Cha skills DT armor.

I still think the Ranger benefit (+2 to all elemental resists, and on the odd occasion you use a ranged weapon, +2 damage) is less insignificant.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

Where did he mention that his post was addressed to people concerned about how bad the end game is?

I believe he stated it was advice on planning a good, viable, main toon. Spend more time getting these past lives vs farming for gear. That's how I read it anyway.

"less insignificant" Now there's a ringing endorsement. Less insignificant sounds to me a lot like being "slightly pregnant."

I read it as yet another person saying that we shouldn't be upset about having no raids and no loot to chase with the expansion and we are playing wrong and should just tr.

Yup, I get you. I even tried to say the same thing in my post but it was late and couldn't make it make sense, so hit the backspace

Yes, more UMD earlier on would have made life much easier. Gotta love the UMD.
