I live in non-US country and trust me everyone in non-US is constantly reminded how high wages are in US.
Only thing they always forget to mention is that while you do have highrer salaries, you are forced to part with more % of it in way of "insurance". In my country i am not forced to pay insurance. So despite lower salary i get more money on my hands after all required expenses.
And you wont "break ice", few (1%-2% ppl actualy knows situation outside there own country, most - 98-99% are constantly reminded how awesum Democracy, Free Speech (in corporation controlled mass-media, this is hilarious) and American Life.
But nothing can be changed (you know whom just wont allow it), so i think true Zen if just live our own lifes.
The only thing worse than having insurance is not having it. For folks outside the US: when you have no insurance the hospitals here only have to get you medically stable then you are on your own. I provide physical rehabilitation services and have to write treatment justifications on an almost daily basis so I am not in their pocket. I won't pretend to have any answers. I do feel your pain. I went very deeply into debt for school and was in my 30's before I was able to buy a "nonbroke-ass" car. Most people are in a similar situation. Turn your TV off during the week and tell your kids to STUDY because being broke or living in poverty is not much fun
I live in the UK where healthcare is free and whilst Im aware that many countries dont have the same, the fact that someone posted that they had to pay for the birth of their children hit it home a lot harder.
How can it be that a Goverment wont even pay to ensure that a child is safely born into this world?

Look on the bright side bro.. at least yer not me. I worked hard since I was 12 and got a paper route to help pay for food after my parents divorced. I worked construction the rest of my working life until the day I got hurt at work. I have paid into social security and disability since I was 14 and got my working papers.
The accident when I got hurt was in 96 when I was in a electric company truck that flipped over on its side because someone didn't put the boom in the cradle and the supposed fail safe interlocks and brakes that were designed to stop the boom from freely swinging around failed. Since then I have had my shoulder sewn back together, bones in my neck fused together with steel plates and screws to hold in place. and an electronic stim unit installed in me that shocks the back of my head 24 / 7 to shunt pain conduction thru the nerves to the brain.
The insurance company STILL to this day is fighting saying I am faking and that I can go back to work like nothing ever happened.
Insurance is the biggest scam EVER. Wait til obummer care is a few years old and they start cutting back on services and jacking up premiums while the insurance co's set records for profits in the billions and not the hundreds of millions they already boast.
Why after every update to the games I play do I constantly have to pick more pieces of the nerf bat from the back of my skull. Abolish corporate involvement in gaming now.
Insurance companies are out to F us! They have too many commercials! How the F do they pay for them! (by raising our rates!) One company even gives cash back every two months, but you have to buy the most expensive plan A to qualify! This is ludicrous for someone who buys the D plan and it is almost 200 a month (tf!) , and qualifies ( year after year no accident) just the same! F U Car Insurance Bastards! You are giving plan A customers a check back but they pay more. TF! is this! You think you are giving more but your not! You are trying to pull sh*t! Insurance companies and the people that work for them have sold their souls. Pure and simple. They need to give back in order to save their souls. They need to lower our rates! We know that you are all full of ****, so knock it off!
I now see ObomaCare insurance reps inside convenient marts with those that have a pharmacy trying to sell me insurance.
What kind of scam/cult is this!
