Default Level 20 Helf: Cleric or Rogue Dili?

Hi all. My (primarily Shintao) monk hit level 20 and previously depended on the cleric dilettante for some wand/scroll raises, heals, buffs, etc... At this point, I am thinking of changing to Rogue dilettante. It appears to have 2 tiers and will give an additional 3d6 damage. Has anyone gone this route before? With occasional ship buffs, decent gear and DR, I believe my survivability is much better. I have selected Grandmaster of Flowers - using Ivy Wraps and just got the Grave Wraps off auction for 35K <--These are amazing. Thanks

The rogue dilly will stack with sneak attack from ninja spy if you have any, so can boost dps quite nicely especially since it'll apply & be boosted by 50% when they're stunned.

Personally I'd stick with the cleric one though for emergency healing, group support & some handy buff wands/scrolls.

Just to further muddy the waters though, have you considered wizard dilly for shield, blur & knock wands plus scrolls like displacement, sleet storm (when in GMoF or with appropriate gear), fireshield, teleport, greater heroism & tensers transformation?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

That req's putting 5 pts into INT, though; why not just invest in UMD?

Thanks for the responses. I actually reset my helf enhancement tree and was playing with different options. However, it would not let me choose anything BUT cleric dili. Maybe I need to do a reincarnation to clean this up?

One more question came to mind (I need to do some reading for sure): I think my UMD is 14 at level 20 (includes +5 Charisma item). I have a treasure hunter's compass for +3 and Spider Mask, possibly +1. That gets me to 18. Is this even useful? A quick glance at the forums is calling for 29. Just wondering

You have to talk to Fred if you want to swap Dilettante feats.

On a pure monk? With a lot of gear it'd be halfway useful i guess, but 13 starting int isn't bad for monks, they have plenty of useful skills especially with the new stealth changes - and the really useful thing about dilly feats is that if you get negged, they lose none of their success chance where even a single negative level is -2 to all your skills.

If you do LR, just make sure to max out UMD, you shouldn't need that many points in jump this time around, keep your concentration nice and high. Helps with ki gen and scrolling under duress. You should have enough UMD by 20(but definitely by 25) to scroll heal, tenser's, GH, etc. and swap for cleric for rogue.

It's not that extra skill pts + wiz (or arty) dilly on a monk is bad, ofc; it's what stat(s) are you sacrificing for it? OP didn't mention how many build pts he has to work with; if this is a first-life monk, 5 pts is kind of a lot.

Fair point, i've gotten so used to having 32 point builds i can barely even remember how tight it is on a 28-pointer
