Exalted Smite and Improved Critical

What's the interaction of the improved crit range of exalted smite (+2 at level 3) and the improved crit range of the Improved Critial feat?

E.g., with a greatsword (19-20x2), what will be the resulting crit range of a successful exalted smite (which grants also +2 crit multiplier)?

1. 15-20x4 (Exalted Smite is applied after IC)?
2. 13-20x4 (Exalted Smite is applied before IC)?
3. 17-20x4 (Exalted Smite doesn't stack with IC)?

I believe it's #1. Improved crit will double your crit range, and then exhalted smite will add 2 more to this. So in the case of your greatsword...

Greatsword: 19-20 crit range
w/ Improved crit: crit range doubled to 17-20
w/ Exhalted Smite 3: Add two more, for a crit range of 15-20. Also your crit multiplier is increased by 2, to x4

This was my impression as well. I was able to confirm this with a some testing smites on the ship dummy.

This also brought the interesting insight that the expanded crit range is applied to non-evil enemies as well, but the extra damage is not.
