Default Massive Nerf to ranger DwS positive energy

What was was once 75 spellpower total is now a total of 20 spellpower. Sure it was a overpowered one splash but move it out of splash range don't punish rangers because of it.

I love how if something is "OP" its fixed almost instantly but bugs like Improved Weapon Finesse and ninja spy's "piercing/slashing" requirement not working properly are still broken...the former didn't really hurt the game but the latter does...come on devs priorities.

WHAT THE FLYING HOLY HOCKY PUCKS IS THIS STUFF?????????????????????????

You forget to add spell power to rangers to begin with.... and then your brilliant idea is to stick the pos spell power in the deepwood tree, so that we have to stick almost a tenth of our ap for it in a tree we don't wanna use... so now you go oh what the heck, reduce the spell power massively, and add it to the core enhancements, so now if we don't want deepwood but we want our positive spell power.. we have to flush what, a fourth of my danged points for the same spell power, are you kidding me...

You really gotta kick raneers downstairs don't ya. If ya gotta nerf the freakin thing, then put 5 pos spell power in all the ranger core abilities (wouldn't hurt to unbone pallys and do the same thing for them).

What are you guys on about... I do believe after the full and complete oversight of it being missed in the original implementation, and now you guys deciding to mess with it again, the playerbase needs a dev response about who what when where and why you guys are doin this stuff.

Turbine, you are screwing rangers forcing them to invest in this garbage tree to stop "cocooners" from being over-powered. If it's cocoon that's over powered NERF THAT INSTEAD!

This change causes more harm than good. Reverse it.

Since the boards are STILL SCREWY and apparently the dang edit button doesn't work... what a surprise....

After that dev post, forget it, change it back. I'm gonna have to think that no one wants to be forced to spend that much ap for what was a CORE CLASS ABILITY. Do you guys play the game you develop????... or atleast play the classes you make changes to???? somehow with a lot of this stuff I highly flippin doubt it.

Having to spend 30 points in the Deepwood tree to get the same devotion we can get now on live is unacceptable.

This is rather sad. Before U19, any Ranger had the option to get 80 Devotion with as few as 4 APs. I thought that the current live version was an adequate substitute for this. Requiring a huge number of AP spent in the Stalker tree hoses AAs and Tempests who want to heal themselves with CSW or CMW. That's a pity.

If this is done to target problems with cocoon, I think that cocoon should be the ability which is worth being changed. If it's being abused in such a grave way, why not change that?

Rangers need a source of positive energy spellpower, since they have healing spells. Personally, I think they need positive energy spellpower MORE than the higher-tier casters since they have such low sp and very few things to use it on, other than buffs and healing. Not to mention that they get cure light wounds at level *eight* for some reason.

Love how they nerf everything the least bit beneficial to the players at the drop of a hat, meanwhile, Pale Masters bugs have barely been acknowledged.

Also, I do distinctly remember Feather of Sun remarking on one of the bugs and saying he would make sure himself that a fix made it to Patch 2. Saw nothing of the sort in the notes.

I didn't see the nerf to the DWS devotion in the release notes.

This nerf is an absolutely terrible thing...... they should have left the enhancements as they were (75 total positive spell power) and added more positive power to the cores.... sometimes I just sit at home alone, shivering and shaking my head.

    Sleazy change is sleazy.

Deepwood sucks. Rangers should not be forced to spent 30 AP in this garbage tree to get devotion.

    Reverse this.

Now it's another tree with junk you need to get what you want - and it's really freaking deep. Lame.

We have too much of this already.

What is this I don't even...

Why must the devs work so very hard to utterly break the one class I really like?
    Araphina Skycrow - 15Paladin/3Ranger/2Fighter (Life10/25) 5xRanger, 3xPaladin, 2xMonk
    Araphell - Arasin - Arathaes - Arawyn - Aravein

There is a reason for this: it's over-powered on splash builds. I have it on a 12/6/2/ fighter for cocoon and yes, it's insanely stupid how wonderful it is.

But it's not OP on actual rangers. Mostly-Rangers sacrifice a bunch of DPS for their ability to heal. Forcing you to spend 30 AP in a worthless tree to get the devotion we now get is unacceptable.

If I need to go back to heal-scrolls there is no point being a ranger in the first place.

Cocoon on splash-builds is the problem, nerf that instead.

Could be solved by putting SP on the Tempest tree as well, and instead of back-loading, more evenly loading it through the tiers - some at the front, some at the end.

Have it as a one-rank, tier1 enhancement giving 25 spellpower each in all three ranger trees.

That way, a ranger can get 75 spell power easily, while a multi-classed build might sacrifice something because you can only get six trees.

It might be acceptable if ANY bottom-rung of a ranger tree gave 10 positive spell-power, non-stacking to prevent splash-sploiting.

Just don't force us to invest heavily in deepwood.

I like something like this. Maybe not 25, maybe 10 and then option later in some trees for more for pure rangers.

That's a good idea as well.
