+10 tomes next expansion...
Good loot from the event: the new rubies or if there were ML28 items. Neat items, not that good but not bad.
Bad loot: +6 tomes that have a bonus which is not avaible elsewhere in game.
The fact that we will always run it to get +6 tomes doesn't eliminate the fact that +6 tomes should not be avaible in such a short and limited event. Simple as that.
You know, people care for the game. We are not just "omgz gimme +6 tomezz lololol!!!oneone!". This is not good for the game, simple.
If you need to understand why such a powerfull item doesn't belong to such a short and limited event then I'm sorry for you.
Tomes have always been the ultimate goal of every player. They should be avaible in game, stop. And yes, one extra ability point is a lot, specially when we have Epic feats that requires x STR/CON/Whatever.
They should remove the tomes; upgrade the old loot.
Running for tomes is nice and will draw lots of folks. I personally won't bother with a single tome. Fact is, they'll be in high-level loot eventually (and honestly, the freaking store soon enough) - but the Mabar gear itself will only be available in the short-term.
Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane
This. For example: upgrade the robe to ML 28, to give +5 necro DCs and 138 spell power. Upgrade the cloak to give a colorless or yellow slot, 8% dodge, and 15 DR/good.
The thing about having these nice gear is that you can get these bonuses elsewhere, too. They consolidate slots. But, you aren't missing something essential that is not available anywhere else. As of right now, +6 tomes are NOT available anywhere else in the game.

I did. None of it answers the question. Saying you really want something is not providing an answer for why it makes a big difference. Most of the things people consider "must have" in this game simply aren't.
It's funny how many people say that getting Completionist has been devalued because 2 extra points on every ability score doesn't matter that much any more, but every time they introduce a tome with one extra "+" on it, people freak out.
I also see no rational explanation for why it's the end of the world for there to be an item that's only available in an event. No, not everyone can get these items. Guess what -- there are zillions of items that various groups of players cannot get, for one reason or another. That's life.
It's a heck of a lot easier for the average player to get something out of Mabar than one of those super-rare raid or epic items.

There are feats that require specific stats to take-- many builds use tomes to reach the required stat to take those feats. Having a +6 tome opens up a lot of new possibilities for builds, that they did not have before.
And the problem is with the principle of giving something this useful only during a limited time. With every other item in the game, all players have an equal opportunity to obtain them. Yeah, most people can't get an epic ring of spell storing because the shard is absurdly rare, but everybody still has that 0.002% chance of getting the drop every time they run epic DQ.
Even if considering that aspect, then compared to a +5 tome, it basically means saving you 1 build point (or maybe 2) during character creation. This is a big deal?
Gosh, how did anyone ever qualify for epic feats before the existence of these +6 tomes that didn't exist two days ago?
Really? So a guy who's got a bunch of past lives and loads of gear and cash and is in a high-end raiding guild and on private channels has the same opportunity to get rare items as a new player with few resources in a small guild?
I don't think so.
What chance does a newer player these days have to, say, make an alchemical weapon? Pretty close to zero.
Events are special because they are limited time. They usually run for a couple of weeks and most players have a chance to get the goodies they provide. A few won't. That's life. You won't die if you don't get every last bit of possible bling.
You keep stating that I didn't answer your question:
Better now? You need me to send you a screenshot?
Oh and you are just saying non-sense. Noone ever complained that "an item is only available in an event". But when you put such a valuable item in this kind of event, yes it becomes a problem.
Answered above.
Yes, actually people are complaining about this item being available only through an event. And there is no problem except in the minds of people who think that they are entitled to every single thing that has ever existed in the game.
Heaven forbid someone might not have time to grind an item over a two-week period. Oh, but all those items that veterans got 2, 3, 4 or 5 years ago that new players can never get? Oh, those are no problem at all, right?
The potential is there for it to make a huge difference, as one build point could allow an additional 2-3-4 build points into another stat since the higher you go in a stat each point costs more. Allowing access to feats that were otherwise unobtainable. I agree it won't be with everyone but the possibility is there.
I will be honest.
The only reason I do not like the idea of getting +6 tomes or cool new augments only from Mabar, is the fact that I do not like Mabar.
I think it is hard to run a raid with such a large number of people needed and I have limited time to play. But you know what? I do not have those items now and if I do not get them??? Well then nothing changes for me. I will try to get a few of them, maybe even upgrade my cloak of night on my rogue. Will mostly like run my rogue out there even though he is not so good against the undead.
The main thing is I will do my best to have playing a game I enjoy playing when I have the time to play it.

And your answer is wrong. You are talking about 1 ability point. As Drwaz said above, it is much more likely to be a 2-3-4 ability points gained at character creation. It IS a big deal.
Items such Cloak of the Night and Endless Warps are not a problem. Tomes are super-rare end-game items that should not be made avaible during an event like this for the reasons stated above.
Oh and btw, I don't think you know what entitled really means. What I'm saying is actually the opposite of it.
No idea what vets got 2,4,5,20 years ago but if I was there, I would have said the same as now. No point in comparing 20 years ago with now, keep the things straight.
