    Default Help with Sorc Spells please

    I've recently come back to DDO after a couple of years and WOW what a change. It's like it's not the same game.

    I just TR'd my Sorc and would love a list of spells that are MUST HAVE, Useable and DO NOT CHOOSE!

    My enhancements are Air and Fire Human 34 pt and I'm only lvl 7 now.

    PS- As of now I'm planning on going Sorc 18 / FvS 2 since I play mostly in groups, but I may still choose Sorc 18 / Pally 2

    You might like that. Swap out Solid Fog for Firewall.

    Here are a few recommendations for general "don't leave home without it" type spells for a Fire / Air savant:

    1st level: Jump
    2nd level: Resist Energy, arguably Knock
    3rd level: Haste, Displacement
    4th level: Dimension Door, Fire Wall
    5th level: Electric Surge, Teleport
    6th level: Chain Lightning, Greater Heroism
    7th level: Delayed Blast Fireball, Prismatic Spray
    8th level: -
    9th level: Meteor Swarm

    Some good lower level attack spell choices include:

    1st level: Shocking Grasp, Burning Hands
    2nd level: Scorching Ray, Electric Loop
    3rd level: Fireball, Lightning Bolt

    Some other capabilities that can prove attractive include:

    Invisibility (2nd level [Invisibility], 7th level [Invisibility, Mass])
    Faster Movement (1st level [Expeditious Retreat], 6th level [Shadow Walk])
    Dispel Magic (3rd level [Dispel Magic, not recommended due to space and caps], 6th level [Greater Dispel Magic], 9th level [Mordenkainen's Disjunction - can destroy Spell Ward traps])
    Elemental Damage Absorption (3rd level [Protection from Energy], 5th level [Protection from Elements], 7th level [Protection From Elements, Mass])
    Enemy Reflex Saves Debuff (examples include: 3rd level [Ray of Exhaustion], 4th level [Solid Fog], 7th level [Waves of Exhaustion])
    Possibly Half-Hearted Persistent AoE Crowd Control (examples include: 2nd level [Web], 7th level [Otto's Sphere of Dancing])

    Don't take teleport/greater teleport unless you're too lazy to carry scrolls. Then you have those spots free for other spells.

    I highly recommend Sonic Blast as a first level spell, especially if you're going Shiradi.

    I use Sonic Blast and the electricity SLAs of Electric loop to stun mobs, Magic Missile for the Shiradi procs. Turn on Emp and Max for the SLAs, leave it off for MM and SB, turn it on for your higher level damaging spells - like Delayed Blast Fireball, for when you want to pump out the damage and don't care about cost.
