    Default Are the Prefix/Suffixes WAI?

It seems like with the new update that we see a ton of these new "Shrieking II" and "Heartseeker IV" things, but what about all the older, special abilities such as Divine Light and Sun's Fury? Are these now tossed to the wayside? I liked these procs, and the Pandemonium / Desert Sand procs and would like to see them integrated with all these new fangled procs, especially as they've really not been around very long...

What would be the reason for only having ghostbane weapons and no other types of bane weapons? That seems rather arbitrary and silly to me.

I sincerely hope they haven't abandoned the huge number of affixes that have been missing since U19. The loot is bland and boring with everything being the same now.

The excitement of random loot is what kept me in the game. With all the few quest/raid loot items I'd want gotten within a week after a quest pack release, it was just the possibility of getting meteoric, mangling or tempestuous khopeshes, primal armors, etc. that kept me playing.

The new stuff is underpowered but moreover it's boring.

I like the ghostbane, and I like the increase of items with augment slots. Also like paragon/epic.

Everything else is as other described, underpowered and bland.

    Basically how I feel too.

They seem bland. Especially the names.

Names count. "You pull a fire burst sword of detonation." "you pull a fire III sword of Explosion IV."
    Which is more exciting?

I find that I do not even want to read the description and figure out if it is powerful or not.
    Blah.... vender it.

    The paragon effect is cool.
The Ghostbane is nice. (but no more Ghost touch of Disruption. )

Vorpals on non slashers is nice.

    Rapid strikes sounds nice.

Anyway... weapon effects needs another pass Turbine.
    (and names count)

(one more note: really sad that you guys retro-fix things to NOT be in our favor, and never retro-fix things to be "in" our favor. )

Bland is a good word to describe how i feel about the czurrent weapon pre/suffixes.

Here's a link to a thread I started asking the same thing. There's a quote by Feather of Sun in there about what is going on with the "old" affixes.

Pray tell me, which new suffix is as good as the ~25 damage that Mangling adds?
And which prefix exactly beat the 24 from meteoric or 23.5 from tempestuous?

I have yet to see the flaming and shocking X prefixes (or IX for that matter. I haven't even seen VIII on random loot yet)
And the sonic/untyped X suffix? As far as suffixes go I haven't seen anything damage-related yet.

I bet the highest damage lvl28 new random loot drop doesn't outdamage my lvl12 Lit II

I'm hoping he was referring to some of the new equipment affixes, deadly in particular. In that case, I wouldn't say it's overpowered, but it is so far ahead of the curve that we were used to that you wonder how it ever came to be.

If he is in fact talking about the extremely bland new weapon affixes, then it's just simple math. The new stuff is both underpowered compared to the old affixes as well as extremely boring. To suggest that new loot gen weapons are overpowered is just silly. You might be able to pull some amazingly rare combination of epic tier 2, with vorpal and some other suffix, but that would have to be min level 28 with wonderful craftsmanship. Even then, a similar combination but with the MotU affixes would still be better if it were possible.

This pretty much explains it. I'm really glad I have a decent size collection on various mules. My epic melee bard is sad though. After all, lvl 26-28 weapons couldn't be hoarded before the update
