    Default Black outs - help?

    Hello,
Hoping someone out there might be able to help. I just bought a new computer from Dell and am having trouble with DDO.

    3 main problems, probably related:

    1. Occasionally, I freeze while playing & the computer blacks out. Sometimes it comes right back on, but sometimes it does not & I have to shut the computer off (hard shut down).

    2. If I "Ctrl + Alt + Del" it will sometimes black out similar to above. Once in a while it goes to my desktop like it's supposed to.

    3. When I log out it sometimes blacks out. Mostly, if I've changed characters in game this will happen.

Does anyone have an idea why this would happen & if it can be fixed?
    Thank you.

I have these problems too. Especially when talking to class trainers and menues popping up, like Level up menue or Enhancements. But I also get random freezes when just walking around. Usually Alt+Tab to Windows and back to DDO helps, although it takes a while to switch to desktop (first it seems to do nothing, but after several seconds it works). I assume it's either a RAM issue, which I'm currently not able to solve, or a memory issue caused by DDO itself, which I'm not capable to solve.

    Default DDO Screen Goes Black

Hi, I have been having this problem for some time now. The screen will just go black, I can hear my party and can enter text in chat box and at least let them know I have to do a hard reboot. Is there anyone with a fix for this? I did read somewhere that someone else with same problem has a Nvidia 9600 GT graphics card, which I have myself. Was wondering if its releated to this card or not. Also he mentioned it started for him while playing LOTR on some new content update there. So I'm assuming that when thay made that change it crossed over to here in DDO. I'm going to try and install Direct X 11, see if that helps. I already updated my drivers from Nvidia, cause I have had MS force an update to my graphics driver even when I tell MS to not update my PC. So I did think that happened but now I thats not the problem since I have read same problem from other players. Turbine help us!

From the little box at the top of the forum :

Known Issue: Black Screen With Visible UI: Some Intel users may find that when DirectX 10 is enabled, only their UI is visible and the rest of their screen is black. If this occurs, we recommend you disable DX10, enable DX9, and restart the game client.
