Insightful Damage worth anything for an XBow user?

Im not sure if I am understanding it.
It will use my INT mod for damage instead of what ?
Is this just for melee or does it help on an Xbow ?

It is the best thing since sliced bread, for crossbows.

Crossbows don't get a damage modifier from a stat, usually. Add insightful damage and each bolt in the volley will do extra damage.

It's amazing.

Insightful Dmg will work with any crossbow or 1H melee weapon. In the case of xbows, it replaces...nothing, since there is no stat bonus to xbow dmg normally. It also stacks with the <???> Weapons spells, so it's pretty much a must-have for any repeater-wielding arty.

INT to dmg from Mechanic is at rog lvl 6; I hardly call that a "splash." In particular, that means giving up two of your arty bonus feats and lvl 6 spells.

Probably why the Rogue/Arti Multis I've seen have always been the other way round!

13 Rogue/7 Arti was a great build Pre-Shadowfell - I'm hearing not so good any more though.

I wouldn't worry too much about insightful strikes - with a dex just barely enough for improved precise shot and the 'new' combat system I rarely miss with crossbows.

The damage of insightful damage though? Can't live without it.

Yeah to-hit is an afterthought, there's so many ways to boost it that you wont need INT-to-hit.

Besides, really, the difference between 19 DEX (for IPS) and 30-40 INT is only 5-10 points of to-hit. Not really worth taking 6 Rogue just to get +10 to-hit, is it?

you'll have to ask yourself if the ability to add int mod to xbow damage without needing to cast on every single one of your xbows is worth it

Swapping xbows is really only a midlevel heroic concern...by the time you're close to endgame, you probably just have 1 xbow you're using against everyone. A good named xbow can overcome the DPS advantage of target-specific lootgen xbows like Disruption.

Swapping xbows means you cant use Attach Weapon, too.
