Do Drow Need the Spot Skill?

I am thinking of making a Drow Rogue 2/Wizard 18 and I noticed that Drow have an enhancement called Nothing is Hidden that let's them automatically make search checks to notice traps at a -4 penalty whenever they're in range to spot them. With this ability, do I even need the Spot skill at all? I'd love to be able to put those skill points elsewhere.

I'm assuming you still would need it because the auto-search function with the -4 penalty occurs only when you are in range to spot a trap; so by that logic if you can't spot it, you wouldn't be able to search it.

From what I can deduce, nothing is hidden is actually a SPOT check, not a search check.

Basically I walked up to some traps when I had a 32 spot and 52 search, found them when actively searching but not from simply walking up to them.
Obviously there's a -4 penalty so to check I also used GH and still only found them when actively searching.

So yes, looks like you still need to have a spot skill.
