    Default Ya10kSAA - Yet Another 10k Stars Arcane Archer, updated for u19

    I've decided to keep my 11 Ranger/6 Monk/3 Arty at that exact split and just give her the benefits of a new class progression. The result is the following build; the epic levels were implemented in a somewhat buggy way.

    I've opted against the PA-C-GC-OC line, in favor of Toughness, Emp. Heal, Maximize, Dodge. This way, I sacrifice some DPS for better surviability. This build is meant as a LR+20; the leveling order is not recommened for leveling.

    Level Ups: 1 in Dex (to qualify for CA), 3 in Str, 3 in Wis.

    I would create a toon with such a build only for sake of naming him Yaloksaa, waiting for people asking about it

    About the build, I don't see a point in taking 3 arti. You could go 11rng/9mnk for improved evasion.
    If you need UMD, you could go 3 rogue, gaining access to other skills, 2 SA dice and freeing up race selection.
    Or you could do 12/6/2ftr for ranger core and two extra feats.

    Maybe I'm missing something.

    I literally just TR'd out of this class split on my main. While it was extremely effective before U19, I'm not as sure any more. It's still a solid split, but the AP will be very tight and you won't be able to get everything you want to. I for instance could not get my build to the same power it was before the update. But, you may be able to find a happy medium in there somewhere. Since you're opting out of the PA-C-GC-OC line I'll assume you will be ranged most of the time, and therefore won't have the same problems I did; If this is the case this is one of the strongest class splits in the game. Or, at least it was 3 days ago.

    Well, Maxed UMD, Maxed trapping skills, a few spells(Grease, Enchant weapons, Enchant Armor, Summon Bolts, and Elemental Weapons) Rune arm+Xbow use while leveling early on, plenty of Extra SP, Dog to pull levers, +1 to caster level of all scrolls/wands(Effectively adds 1 minute to everythings duration.)...

    And that's just after the update. Before offered a few more things:
    +1UMD
    Wand and Scroll Mastery I(Might still get this? Not sure.)
    Extra Damage Boost I for when you run out of Human versatility/other damage boost.
    Araphina Skycrow - 15Paladin/3Ranger/2Fighter (Life10/25) 5xRanger, 3xPaladin, 2xMonk
    Araphell - Arasin - Arathaes - Arawyn - Aravein

    The race selection might not be optimal with u19, but this thread's aim is to discuss an LR for an existing Half-Elf. Rogue is interesting, but Artificer offers some extra damage (Elemental Weapons) as well, and I value the Wand and Scroll Mastery higher than more DPS. Feats are not an issue for this build.

    These are pretty much the reasons for splashing arty. Nowadays, the UMD +1 and the extra action boost is lost, but Wand & Scroll Mastery III (+75%) is available at a pretty cheap investment of 4 AP in the Arcanotechnican tree. That's more useful than Improved Evasion, in my opinion. Am I missing some other grave benefits from 9 Monk over 6 Monk?

    Your analysis is correct; this toon is a very lazy person when it comes to putting her Pinion away. Melee fighting style is only used sparsely to generate Ki for 10kS.

    Unfortunately, I don't have enough skill points to keep UMD and the trap skills maxed - this is due to the fact that Combat Archery works and needs me to reallocate build points from Int to Dex.

    Not really. With the changes, and the fact that you don't melee as often, 9 Monk isn't as appealing for this type of build as 6 monk is.
    TOD(Touch of Death) Used to require 9 Monk levels, and being a dark monk, and seemed like a good idea for a mixed unarmed melee/AA build, but I personally never bothered with it.

    And Hmm, I hadn't heard it was fixed. Is this confirmed as working then? If so I may rework my TR a bit at cap..
    And honest drop the trap skills. With the way they changed trap DC's it will be harder to hit the needed benchmark on a splash build like this, and even when I had them mostly maxed I could still fail boxes in EE before the update.

    Thoughts?
    Just curious, why maximize? Is it to further enhance cure light/moderate wounds? Might be even meh for leveling IMO and in epic most just use cocoon for healing with the occasional scroll for emergencies. I would drop and grab something useful personally like IPA or drop a few toughnesses too and grab OC.
