Hard Life of Newbie Iconics (money)

Ok. I am trying to play Iconic PDK and one thing is still missing there.

Money (I mean plats). At level 15, there are not much short quests in the Eveningstar where I can get something to sell at vendors for plats. I want to buy potions, scrolls and so on but I am totally broke.

Iconics should have some money, because ... simply they are iconics. Don't suggest to sell my starting equip :]

1) Don't roll up an Iconic as your first and only character!

2) If you're new to the game and have done 1} then you need to go back and farm lower level stuff anyway - You'll get plat from that.

3) Spell Mats - Yes this could be an issue for those trying to create a Caster BUT I can't see Newbies looking at PDK and thinking...Oooh Sorcerer!

I am not newbie. I just playing as newbie and trying to imagine what they will see and think. There is really small possibility, that newbies will roll a split. But they can choose iconics default path. They will still need some money and there are neither Heyton' Rest nor The Collaborator easy quests containing some loot to sell.

There is loot you can sell in every single dungeon/quest. It might be a small amount, but it's better than a kick in the junk.

then how do you get back to ebberon? or to ebberon, since you've never been there?

While you won't be all stocked up for your very first quest (and new players tend not to get all stocked up), with the vendor trash items from chests averaging at around 500-600 plat each, you'll find you'll have the plat you need very soon. After running seven quests on an iconic at lvl 15/16 I received over 10k from selling it at the tav.

Are you saying it's impossible to play the iconic with the classes you've chosen without some plat up front?

What I've noticed is that it's very hard to play as an iconic outside of the prescribed class without any plat up front.

I don't have the Shadar-Kai (yet, waiting on u20), but I have every intention of rolling as a rogue/wizard once I do. Without some support from my other toons, I would have no material spell components for up to level 7(!!) spells, no caster gear, etc. The thing with that is that it's much more likely that a relative newbie player is going to look at a Shadar-Kai, have read about rogue/wizards somewhere (forums, web search for builds) and then will roll one up than, say, a fighter/paladin/sorc PDK. Same boat with a Paladin/Sorc Bladeforged. It's not an uncommon build these days, and one where a newbie might think "Oh, I can start a powerful build at level 15!" not realizing they won't have any gear to go with it.
