New U19 Builds for Characters

It's not a big deal, but i just figured any extra help clarifying things and keeping it straight would be beneficial.


As to the comments on the new planner, and whether ftp builds are still viable....
It's a good thing to point out that lots of these builds here are being put together by well known character builders and people that have been around for a fair while.
Most people are still out there refining their own main builds, let alone having the time to start putting together lists for new players just yet :P

And it might be a good idea to get in touch with the original posters if you notice any using the old standard - that's one less thing Battlehawke has to keep on top of. :P

So there are less than a handful of builds for f2p now? The necro-cleric, the evasion paladin etc; by EllisDee37. The rest are either calling for pay classes, 36 pt, or past lives?

My Shadow Walker build is also F2P and probably could be converted to a 28pt build easy enough.... hmm might look in to doing 28pt stats.

I did not TR yet, i am waiting my 20th Shroud completion to be able to wear the 2 greensteel items I have crafted for this next life ... but I had a drow lvl 9 in stock (1st life) i have LRed her to test the build ... she is now lvl 12 and it rocks, i do quests in group and it is very smooth and easy. And my 3rd life toon will be even more efficient as he will have better stuff / be more optimized.

I think it is a good and very fun build, with a good mixing of spells and melee.

Cool builds I prefer to play old style DnD party based toons but some of your builds look like they might be something Id try ty. I prefer that all my toons have at least one built in flaw so that I have to use greater skill and play with a group. Ty though for the builds think Ill try one or two that suit my style of antiquated play.

Lots of good builds from lots of good players.

I like reading through them myself and try to take the best of each build and try to make a toon that fits what I want. ......

You can either take the weapon proficiency feat or UMD Master's Touch scrolls, which AFAIK are still only available from the Portable Hole.

Without sacrificing a feat which are hard to come by, instead maybe go 19 Rogue/1 Fighter? (Lvl 1 Rog, Lvl 2 Ftr, Rest in Rogue?)
That way I get the base weapons and a bonus feat?

I don't like losing the Assassin capstone (+2 INT, +4d6 SA), but yes, that's an option too. But since there are no pick-specific bonuses in the rogue PrEs, why do you want to use them instead of daggers? Remember that Knife Spec adds +1 crit range & multiplier to daggers, so w/Imp Crit you wind up 15-20 x3 crits vs 19-20 x4 crits w/picks.

Sometimes you just have to "savour the flavour".

With that being said I can completely understand the not wanting to give up the lesser damaged Crit more of the time rather then hoping your virtual die keeps rolling those 19's & 20's. A 25% chance to crit vs the standard 5% a Pick offers is nice.
