    Default Verizon server

    .ge-7-2-0.XL3.BOS4.ALTER.NET [152.63.5.182]

This is the one that I am also dropping handshakes with on SEVERAL attempts. I did seven tracert's and three of them crashed on that address. And those are the GAME playing addresses.

This is a UUNEt backbone that belongs to MCI Communications which is doing business as (DBA) VERIZON!!

For fun there is an 800 number listed with someone's name from Verizon but I won't post that.

Default Hopefully, tomorrow it is resolved

Since it is Monday, all the affected parties can get together and point fingers at each other and maybe reach a solution.

This means it is a internet backbone problem and one of the big boys needs to fess up.

Maybe it was a male dominance game to cause pain over the weekend when many of the rivals customers were sure to be using the internet and the wannabe dominant male decided to cram the pipes and slow the load for the rival.
You know, with Warner being a mega-mogul in the comm/media/entertainment sector, wouldn't it be cool if they invested more in the comm/media/ent infrastructure? I mean, couldn't Warner outright BUY Comcast out of petty cash? I bet with some dedicated Warner backbone, DDO connectivity would be smooth as glass.

Hey Warner, buy the internet. You know you wanna.

    Default Bank closed?

I'm not sure if it helps, but here's what I am experiencing. I have one toon on Orien, that when I went into Lordsmarch Bank in the Marketplace I lost connectivity, and can not log back into that toon. I have another toon on the same server that is in the general Harbor area, and I am able to log into the game with that character. Obviously, my server/provider etc... would be the same for both toons, yet one I am unable to access, and one I can access just fine.

So the problem is complex and I fear will not be fully resolved until more people can break apart the mound of information the users have been providing from around the world. I suspect some internal network routing..potentially from a piece of faulty hardware in addition to some ISP issues outside of Turbine's ready control...and some of the issue may very well be issues with Turbines ISP...but it will take time to untangle this ball of yarn.

Default Cannot get past Patch Server

I am glad so many people can get past the login, I however never get prompted to login in cause it fails at the patch server. same thing since yesterday. 33% or 35% then wait for nothing.

You would be kinda dumb, as Comcast is probably three to four times the size of Time Warner, and Time Warner used to own Time Warner cable and spun that off into a separate business. So no, they couldn't buy Comcast even if they wanted to, which they don't.

Market Cap is basically market value

Comcast Market cap (on 3/29/2013) 110,805.9 (in millions)
Time Warner Market cap (on 3/29/2013) 53,862.6 (in millions)

    So it's actually the opposite.

So it's actually the opposite (but more than a year ago).

As discussed previously in this thread when someone changes zones there is a server to server process that when/if it times out causes you to loose connection...this would go to a potential internal hardware or routing issue in that instance. For those who cannot connect to even the login server it might reside with an ISP...this is of course speculation on my behalf based upon conversations here in addition to over 20 years in the IT field. Again without knowing the internal configuration the best I can do is provide my best educated guesses and that that leads me to believe there is more than one problem at work here...rare as it might be...it does happen.

    Default Free VPN

But do your homework: "OpenVPN" (aka Private Tunnel) is only free for the first 100 MB - not much data in today's world; you PAY for anything over.

    Good Luck, all.
I can second the recommendation to use a different "free" VPN. OpenVPN (aka Private Tunnel) cut me off at 100MB during a quest. I believe CyberGhost has a 1GB daily limit. Don't know about bandwidth.

For me, it seems to be related to my guildship (a Stormglory Bolt)...

Signed onto my hagglebard crafterbot (in House K crafting hall) this afternoon for the Daily Dice, no problem.

Signed onto her just now because I planned to re-up my ship buffs before actually playing, hit the bank, mailbox, and AH first, then ran to the guild portal, went to the ship, "Your connection to the server has been lost."

Tried to sign on, ditto. And again.

Switched to the character I was planning on playing, already on the ship... crash. Tried another, and another, and another, all on the ship... crash.

Signed onto an alt in another guild, sitting in the Harbor... no problems. Went to the ship (Stormglory Typhoon), no problems. Logged out, tried yet another in the first guild... crash. Really wishing I wasn't in the habit of logging out while on the ship, 'cause I can't sign ANYBODY on 'cause they're all parked on that guild, except the alt in another guild.

EDIT: And now I'm crashing on that one while going to Smuggler's Rest. Guess I'm not playing tonight.

We should just reset the world router or fire off a few warning shots.

I actually adjusted it for 2013 numbers when I found new numbers, but Comcast is HUGE! They own 51% NBC Universal. O_o

Only reason I am somewhat involved is my MBA is in Finance and had to do a bunch of papers on Comcast. bleh.

Thanks Cyndder. I know it's probably not a lot of fun on days like this having to deal with these unnecessary problems, but I appreciate the time you take going through all the posts, and addressing people individually. I don't know as much as many others about the server/connectivity/isp issues being discussed in the thread, and it helps to have you take the time to address my concerns. I hope for your sake, and ours, that the problem gets resolved soon. Again, thanks.
