Default Skills on a Shiradi 18 wiz / 2 monk?

    Greetings

I am in the process of planning a warforged shiradi wiz / mnk and am looking for input on skill selection.

    I am considering taking
    - 23 ranks of Concentration, Balance, Diplomacy and Spell Craft
    - 21 ranks in Move Silently
    - 11 ranks in UMD

Diplo is for Tea, Move Silently for invis running and UMD for heal/rez scrolls. I believe Jump will be maxed with the spell even without spending points into it except for 4 points at level 1.

I wish I had room for Spot as well to see invis enemies from afar.

Any comments and suggestions are most welcome.

Spellcraft isn't yet on live; are you talking about post-U19? If so, you should consider also making room for the Repair skill, which will boost your Repair / Reconstruct spellpower.

    Thank you for the reply.

Aye, I am talking about post-U19 indeed. Not much point in planning anything within the U18 system.

I have considered Repair as well - but honestly I am not sure if thats needed or worth the skill points. It might be though so the point is good to atleast consider that as well.

Knowing what your target is will make a big difference. For example, Concentration is great in Epic Hard content, but hardly worth the investment in Epic Elite as the damage is generally too high to make your rolls anyways. From the fact that you are going with Shiradi rather than DI, it seems reasonable to assume that Epic Elite is indeed your goal. So it pretty much comes down to having access to Concentration while you are still leveling up, and for using on skill checks such as slave collars, or squeezing 35 more points out of every Reconstruct cast with ranks in Repair.

You mention Spot in the OP, which would of course be nice as well. Another skill to keep in mind is Search. This will become a necessary skill for anyone who wants to be able to access secret areas in post-Shadowfell DDO.

I look at it this way: Repair skill will be useful every time you cast Repair / Reconstruct; Move Silently is only useful when stealthing. Which do you do more often? I know what the answer is in my case...

Are Detect Secret Doors & True Seeing getting nerfed? If so, that sucks.
